It goes so well on biscuits, crackers, and a bunch of other things that I'll go over later on. But my favorite way to eat this pressure cooker apple butter is right out of the jar with a spoon!

HOW TO MAKE APPLE BUTTER
As I mentioned earlier, making this apple butter in the Instant Pot is super quick, easy, and requires little to no effort.
And if you went apple picking with your family, this is super fun to make with them too. Everyone can help prepare the apples and mash them after they cook!
So, if you're ready for Fall in a jar, gather your ingredients, and let's get cooking!
STEP 1: COOKING THE APPLES
First, peel your apples, take out all of the seeds, and chop the apples into small pieces.
Then, get out your Instant Pot, and place the apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves in it.
Next, close the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook at low pressure for 8 minutes.
STEP 2: MAKING THE APPLE BUTTER
When 8 minutes is up, let the pressure cooker naturally release steam for 15 minutes. Then when 15 minutes is up, turn the dial from the sealed to vent position with an oven mitt to release any more steam. And when it is safe to do so, remove the lid.
Next, if you want chunks of apple in your apple butter, transfer everything to a bowl and mash the apples with a fork until it reaches your desired consistency.
And if you want smooth apple butter, puree the mixture with an immersion blender in the Instant Pot or in a standing blender until it is soft and creamy.
Then, transfer the apple butter to a sealable glass jar or airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Once it's chilled, spread it on whatever you want and enjoy!
WHAT TO PUT APPLE BUTTER ON
As I mentioned, my favorite way to eat this Instant Pot apple butter is right out of the jar with a spoon, but it is so good on a variety of things.
Here are some of my favorite ways to eat it:
- Spread on pancakes and waffles
- Spread on a bagel and bread
- Stirred into oatmeal
- Put on top of ice cream
- Swirled into yogurt or frosting
- Put in a bowl and serve with cheese and crackers
The possibilities are pretty much endless, and I'm sure you'll think of other ways to enjoy this apple butter!
STORING APPLE BUTTER
This Instant Pot apple butter recipe will make about one jar - or a pint - of apple butter.
Since it makes such a great gift during the holiday season and is a treat to have on hand, you might want to double or triple this recipe to fill up a few jars.
And don't worry about making too much - you can store your leftover apple butter in the airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
Then if you want to keep it for longer, you can freeze it for up to a year! And to thaw your apple butter when you're ready to enjoy it, just put it in the fridge overnight, and keep it in the fridge once it is thawed.
WRAPPING IT ALL UP
Making apple butter Instant Pot "style" is such a quick and easy way to cook up this delicious spread, and I'm sure you'll be hooked on making it if you try it. I mean, everyone I've shared this with has loved it, so I'm confident you will too.
