THE BEST CHEESECAKE FACTORY CHICKEN PICCATA

As I'm sure you know, The Cheesecake Factory has one of the biggest - if not the biggest - menus for any restaurant. It's basically a big book of deliciousness - it's almost like an encyclopedia, but for food.

And while there are a lot of tasty things to order off of the menu at The Cheesecake Factory I think the chicken piccata is one of the best.

I mean, how could you not love some meaty juicy chicken & rich creamy pasta?

Well, if you've ever wanted to make it yourself - in the comfort of your own home - this copycat Cheesecake Factory chicken picatta recipe is for you!

This piccata recipe has all of the flavors that the one at the restaurant has and it's so easy to make too. In fact, it takes just 30 minutes to prepare this restaurant-level course. Not to mention, it’s made with simple ingredients!

Also, another bonus of making it at home is that you can whip up any sides you want to go with it, like this Cheesecake Factory brown bread, garlic bread, or Longhorn brussel sprouts.

A plate with spaghetti wrapped around it. Cheesecake factory chicken piccata is in the dish.

    Ingredients

Like I said earlier, this Cheesecake Factory chicken piccata recipe uses simple ingredients that you can find at any grocery store. And I wouldn't be surprised if you have most of them at home already.

Anyway, Hhre's what you'll need to make this chicken piccata:

    • 17 oz. (500g) Chicken Breast, cubed
    • 1 tbsp. Butter
    • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
    • 2 cups Mushrooms, sliced
    • ½ cup White Wine
    • ¼ cup Capers
    • 1 cup Heavy Cream
    • About 14 oz. Cooked Pasta

Make sure you don’t skip any of these if you want the authentic creaminess and flavor that the chicken piccata at Cheesecake Factory has.

Now, with that said, one of the main components of this dish is mushrooms. And there are three main types you can choose from for this recipe. Either button mushrooms, cremini mushrooms, or portobello mushrooms will all work well.

As for the pasta, you can use any type that you want! Angel hair pasta or spaghetti are the two most common ones used in chicken piccata, but you can also use bowtie, penne, or anything else you want! And you can even use wheat pasta or gluten free pasta too.

How to Make Cheesecake Factory Chicken Piccata

So, in just 5 easy steps and only 30 minutes you'll have a delicious chicken dinner recipe that will serve up to four people.

However, if you're family are big eaters, you can easily double or triple the ingredients used and just follow the same cooking process to make even more of it. Everyone will probably go for seconds, so plan accordingly.

Now, let's make some Cheesecake Factory chicken piccata!

    Step 1: Cook Pasta

The first step is to cook the pasta. I used classic spaghetti noodles but, again, feel free to use angel hair pasta or any kind of pasta you want.

To cook the pasta, follow the instructions on the box, and once cooked, set it aside.

Also, while you're waiting for the water to boil and the pasta to cook, you can move on to the next step.

    Step 2: Prepare the Chicken

The next step is to prepare the chicken. To do this, pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel to remove any excess water. Then, cut the chicken into cubes.

Next, season the chicken breast with salt and pepper to your taste, and use your hands or a spatula, to massage the chicken with salt and pepper making sure all the pieces are equally seasoned.

    Step 2: Cook the Chicken

Now heat a non-stick skillet to medium-high heat. Then, add the butter and olive oil to it, moving the pan around to coat the surface.

Once the skillet is hot and the butter has just melted, add the chicken breast pieces and cook for about 5 minutes. Then, after the chicken's had time to cook, give it a flip, and cook for a few more minutes until golden brown on both sides.

Now, when the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a plate and set it aside for later.

    Step 3: Prepping The Sauce

For the sauce, start by slicing the mushrooms, then add them to the same skillet the chicken just cooked in. Then, cook the mushrooms for a few minutes until soft and browned.

Now, once they're cooked, remove them from the skillet and immediately add the white wine. And be to scrape the bottom of the pan to incorporate the flavors into the wine.

Anyway, now you'll want to add the capers to the skillet with the white wine and cook for 1 more minute.

    Step 4: Making The Sauce

To create the delicious sauce, add the heavy cream to the skillet followed by the mushrooms, and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce is creamy.

Then, season with salt and pepper for a little extra flavor.

    Step 5: Completing The Dish

Now, to complete this delicious dish, add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and mix to combine everything together.

And make sure all the pasta has been covered in the creamy sauce before completing.

Step 6: Serving This Chicken Piccata

To serve this delicious creation, add some of the pasta to a plate and top with the cooked chicken.

Then, add a generous sprinkle of parmesan cheese - and some extra capers too - on top of the pasta and chicken.

    Enjoy!

    How to Store Chicken Piccata

If you have leftovers (and that's a big "if"), this Cheesecake Factory chicken piccata recipe stores and reheats super well.

To store, after the chicken and pasta have cooled completely, put the leftovers in an airtight container and you can store them in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

By the way, make sure you store this dish as soon as it cools - you don't want to leave it sitting out at room temperature for more than an hour or two.

    How to Reheat Chicken Piccata

Now, to reheat this dish, my favorite way is to put everything back in a skillet on the stovetop.

First, heat a skillet over medium heat, then add the leftovers that you want to it.

Next, add a little chicken stock to the skillet to keep everything from drying out. Then, cook everything for a few minutes - or until it reaches your desired temperature - and enjoy!
