The Best Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo With Grilled Chicken

If you love the asiago tortelloni with grilled chicken from Olive Garden, then you need to try this easy copycat recipe.

Every bite of this creamy baked pasta dish is full of flavor and ooey-gooey cheesy goodness.

Between the bites of juicy grilled chicken and the creamy homemade alfredo sauce, this recipe is guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family!

And, the best part, it's so easy to make. The recipe only takes about 45 minutes from start to finish and yields enough pasta for 4 people.

Making this recipe is honestly easier than going to the restaurant. And it's way cheaper, and I think way more delicious too!

Seriously, making asiago tortelloni alfredo with grilled chicken Olive Garden style is a sure-fire way to curb your pasta cravings whenever they hit - atleast it is for me.

And, if you're anything like me, that's pretty often.

Honestly, it's right up there with some of my other favorite pasta recipes, like this fried spaghetti or this vodka cream sauce pasta.

    Ingredients

While this pasta is definitely a "treat yourself" kind of dinner, it's actually made mostly with pantry staples and ingredients you can find anywhere.

Now, if you've been wondering what is in asiago tortelloni, let's take a closer look at the ingredients.

Here's what you'll need for the grilled chicken:

    • 2 chicken breasts, sliced
    • 2 cups herb & garlic marinade

And for the asiago tortelloni alfredo:

    • 8 oz dried cheese tortellini
    • 6 tbsp butter
    • 1 tbsp garlic
    • 2 tbsp flour
    • 1.5 cups milk
    • 1.5 cups heavy cream
    • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
    • ¼ cup Panko breadcrumbs
    • ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded

Like I said, nothing too crazy here.

And you can actually use almost all of these ingredients to make this Olive Garden chicken alfredo and Olive Garden lasagna fritta!

    How to Make Asiago Tortelloni

So, we'll be making this recipe both in the oven and on the stove.

But, don't worry, it's honestly a lot easier than it seems. All you really have to do is cook the pasta and make the cream sauce, and the rest is just popping everything in the oven to bake.

And, as I mentioned, it'll only take about 45 minutes to whip up 4 hearty servings of this pasta.

Also, while it's baking, you can make this garlic bread to go on the side for a complete meal!

Now, gather up your ingredients, and let's make this asiago tortelloni alfredo with grilled chicken Olive Garden style!

Seasoned chicken on top of a piece of parchment paper on a baking tray.

Step 1: Make the Grilled Chicken

First things first, preheat the oven to 350ºF (175ºC).

Now, marinating the chicken for enough time is crucial for maximum flavor, so you'll want to marinate your chicken for about 30 minutes before you start cooking.

When the chicken breasts are done marinating, place them on a baking tray, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until they're nicely golden. By the way, cooking time might vary depending on how thickly your chicken breasts are sliced, so keep an eye on them just in case.

Then, set the chicken aside for later.

Hand holding a bowl of shredded cheese over a skeleton is filled with Alfredo sauce.

Step 2: Prepare the Tortellini and Alfredo Sauce

Now, in the meantime, let's move to the stovetop and get started on the pasta.

Place a pot of well-salted water on the stove and bring it to a boil.

Then, pop in the tortellini and cook them according to the instructions on the packaging. Drain well in a colander and set aside for later.

And now it's time to make the all-important alfredo sauce to complete this asiago tortellini recipe!

Start by melting the butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat.

Next, add the garlic and saute for a few minutes until it starts to smell good.

To that, add the flour, heavy cream, and milk, then stir to combine. Also, make sure that your mix is lump-free and the flour has been incorporated fully into the cream and milk.

Now, once the sauce is smooth, add the cheese and mix until it's fully melted.

    Step 3: Combine and Bake

Now combine the tortellini and alfredo sauce in a bowl.

Then, transfer everything to a baking tray and lay the grilled chicken slices across the top of the tortellini, along with the breadcrumbs and a sprinkle of extra mozzarella cheese.

Bake it for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Serve your pasta hot with fresh parsley for garnish, and enjoy!

Storing and Reheating Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo

So, as I mentioned, this recipe will make 4 generous servings. And if your making it for a family dinner, there probably won't be leftovers.

But, if there are, this asiago tortelloni alfredo with grilled chicken keeps well in the fridge, so don't be afraid to make extra. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Then, if you want to reheat the leftovers, the best way is to put it back in the oven.

Bake it in an oven-safe dish in an oven preheated to 350ºF (175ºC) for 10-15 minutes covered, plus 5 minutes uncovered.

    Wrapping It Up

Well, that's how to make Olive Garden asiago tortelloni alfredo with grilled chicken!

This is the kind of pasta recipe that'll have everyone at the table going in for seconds.

It's super creamy, cheesy, flavorful, and just so, so tasty.

And instead of going to Olive Garden to order this classic dish, you can enjoy all this deliciousness in the comfort of your own home - with plenty to share with the family!

Anyway, I hope you love this asiago tortellini alfredo with grilled chicken recipe as much as I/we do.
