And what's great about this easy spaghetti recipe is that it's just as quick to make as usual spaghetti. So you won't be sacrificing any time by gaining all of this deliciousness.

It's ready in about 30 minutes and makes 4 generous servings of fried spaghetti, giving you the perfect family meal that everyone will love! And while you're finishing up the spaghetti, you can whip up this garlic bread and meatball casserole to go with it for the ultimate Italian dinner!

Oh, and by the way, this recipe works great with leftover pasta too. So, don't let those leftovers go to waste, put them to good use, and make this fried spaghetti with it.

A cast iron skillet with fried spaghetti in it.

    INGREDIENTS

Another thing to love about this recipe is that it's made with basic ingredients that you can find pretty much anywhere.

In fact, you probably have most – if not all – of these in your kitchen already.

Here's what you'll need to make the fried spaghetti:

    • 2 tbsp of olive oil
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • 1 tsp dried parsley
    • ½ tsp dried basil
    • Pinch of red pepper flakes
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 20 oz tomato sauce
    • 10 oz crushed tomato
    • 14 oz spaghetti
    • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
    • ½ cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
    • Fresh parsley for garnish

Now, you'll want to stock up on some of these ingredients. You can use the majority of them to make this lasagna fritta or Texas chicken spaghetti next!

Or you can use the ingredients to make one of my favorite spaghetti recipes, this million dollar spaghetti casserole.

A cast iron skillet with fried spaghetti in it. A spoon and fork or at the front of the skillet with some noodles moved from where they are.

    HOW TO MAKE FRIED SPAGHETTI

So, this recipe will be combining pan-frying and baking everything to create a dish like no other.

And I highly recommend using a cast-iron skillet for this so you can take it straight from the stovetop and place it into the oven.

That said, if you don't have a cast-iron skillet, you can also use a regular skillet for the sauce and transfer everything to an oven-safe dish to bake.

Now, let's make some fried spaghetti!

    STEP 1: MAKE THE SAUCE

First things first, let's make the sauce for our fried spaghetti.

Start by heating two tablespoons of olive oil in a large cast iron skillet, moving the oil around to cover the surface. Make sure you use an oven mitt to touch the handle of the skillet - it will get hot as the skillet heats up!

Next, add your chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until translucent.

Then, add your ground beef, oregano, parsley, basil, red pepper, and salt to the skillet. Mix everything around a few times and cook until the ground beef is browned and cooked through.

Now, pour the tomato sauce and the crushed tomatoes into the skillet and mix to incorporate everything.

Lastly, cook the sauce on medium heat for around 20 minutes to let it thicken. Then, set it aside while we get started on the pasta.

    STEP 2: PREPARE THE PASTA

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180°C).

Next, boil water in a pot on your stovetop - cook the spaghetti according to the directions on the package.

Then when the spaghetti is done, set aside a ladle of the water before you drain your pasta.

Next, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet of sauce, pour in the ladle of pasta water, and mix everything until well combined.

And if you're not using a cast iron skillet, transfer the sauce, pasta water, and spaghetti to an oven-safe baking dish instead.

STEP 3: BAKING AND FINISHING TOUCHES

Before baking, sprinkle the parmesan and mozzarella cheese on top of the pasta.

Then transfer the skillet or baking dish into the oven and bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese is melty and bubbling.

Once your fried spaghetti is ready, take it out of the oven, sprinkle with some fresh parsley, and serve hot. Enjoy!

HOW TO STORE YOUR FRIED SPAGHETTI

So, as I mentioned earlier, this recipe makes 4 hearty servings of fried spaghetti, which is perfect if you're cooking for your family or want to have leftovers.

And if you do have some leftover spaghetti, just transfer everything to an airtight container, and it will last in the fridge for up to 5 days.

For reheating your leftovers, you can use the microwave, stovetop, or oven. And for the best results, here's what you can do to warm it up each way without drying out the pasta.

    Reheating in the microwave

First, transfer the fried spaghetti to a microwave-safe bowl with a couple of tablespoons of water.

Then microwave it for around 3-5 minutes until warmed and the cheese has melted.

    Reheating on the stovetop

To reheat the fried pasta on the stovetop, place everything in a frying pan with a little water.

Make sure to cover the pan and cook on low for 5-10 minutes until the cheese has melted and the pasta is heated.

    Reheating in the oven

Place the fried spaghetti in an oven-safe dish, again adding a tablespoon or two of water.

Cover the dish with foil and transfer it to an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 °C).

Bake until the cheese melts and pasta is warmed through - it will take about 10 minutes.

Part of a cast iron skillet filled with fried spaghetti. Next to it as part of a small white bowl filled with Parmesan cheese and everything is on a gray counter.

    WRAPPING IT ALL UP

That is how you take regular spaghetti to a whole new level.

This fried spaghetti recipe is sure to become a family favorite, and everyone who tries it will love it.

Honestly, after making this fried spaghetti, it will be hard to go back to cooking spaghetti the usual way.

Of course, I'm a little biased since I love this recipe so much, so you'll just have to try it yourself and let me know what you think!
