Anyway, let's get into the details of the best oreo mug cake ever!
Ingredients
As I said before, this 5 ingredient oreo mug cake recipe is so easy to make. And the ingredients to make it are all common grocery store finds.
Here's everything you need to make this Oreo mug cake recipe:
- 4 tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
- ¼ tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 ½ tbsp. Sugar
- 3 tbsp. Milk
- 2 Crushed Oreos
Now, I chose to use regular milk because I love that classic Oreo and milk combination - but you can totally use a non-dairy milk such as almond milk or soy milk if you prefer.
As for Oreos, nowadays they sell oreo crumbs as toppings. You can buy that if you wish, or just crumble the whole Oreo cookie with your hands or a fork!
By the way, you can even use different flavored Oreos to make this mug cake, more on that below.
Modifying Your Oreo Mug Cake
Using classic Oreos will undoubtedly make this the best mug cake recipe. That being said, sometimes you want to change it a bit, and that's totally fine too!
Here are some of my favorite ways to switch up this recipe:
- This one is obvious - top your mug cake with whipped cream!
- Add chocolate chips and ½ teaspoon of cocoa powder to make an even more rich Oreo mug cake.
- Try using golden Oreos, red velvet Oreos, or any flavor you want!
- Use birthday cake Oreos, add frosting, and rainbow sprinkles, and put a birthday candle in it for the perfect birthday cake.
- Use mini Oreos instead of crushed Oreos.
- Make an ice cream mug cake by serving it up with a big scoop of your favorite flavor of ice cream on top.
Alright, now that that's settled, let's dive into how to make this quick and easy Oreo mug cake.

Step 1: Combine the ingredients
First, spray a little baking spray on a paper towel and wipe the small mug or ramekin with it. I like using this 4 oz. ramekin to make my mug cake.
Then, add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and milk to the mug or small ramekin.
Next, give all of the ingredients a mix until they combine and a dough-like consistency forms. Then, add in the crushed Oreo cookies and mix them in the batter.
Step 2: Microwave The mug cake
Now put the mug cake in the microwave and cook it for about 1 minute.
Also, the cooking time will vary based on the power of your microwave, so make sure to check it frequently and cook until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
Step 3: Finishing The Mug Cake
Once the mug cake is cooked to perfection, let it cool for a few minutes, then put some whipped cream on top with half an Oreo stuck in it, and enjoy!
How To Store A Mug Cake
Now, with a single-serve mug cake, the odds of you having leftovers is pretty slim.
That being said, if you do have some oreo mug cake left, you can cover it with plastic wrap or transfer it to an airtight container and it'll last for about a day at room temperature.
