But, with that said, the best part bout this easy Oreo milkshake recipe has to be how simple it is to make. There's no special milkshake machine needed here, you literally just throw all of the ingredients in a blender and blend!
Honestly, this has quickly become one of my favorite dessert recipes to make with Oreos. And, well, if you've been following the blog for a while now then you know I've made a lot of Oreos. So you know this one has to be good if I'm saying that.
By the way, if you want to give some more delicious Oreo desserts a try, you definitely have to make this 2 ingredient Oreo mug cake or this Mississippi mud pie recipe next. Both recipes are about as quick and easy as this milkshake.

Oh, by the way, you can use almost every single one of these ingredients to make my Chick-Fil-A peppermint milkshake and McDonald's Oreo McFlurry recipe. So you'll definitely want to check those out next for more tasty milkshakes.
Ingredient Substitutions & Suggestions
While I recommend making this Oreo milkshake recipe with the ingredients listed above, you can make some substitutions to change it up.
With that said, for the ice cream, I always use vanilla ice cream to balance out the chocolatiness of the Oreo cookies. But, if you want to make it even more chocolatey, you can use chocolate ice cream instead! Or, if you're out of chocolate ice cream, and you still really want to add a ton of chocolatey deliciousness to your Oreo milkshake, you can add some chocolate syrup to it as well.
Also, just so you know, if you can't eat dairy, any dairy-free ice cream of your choice - like oat milk ice cream or almond milk ice cream - will work great to make this milkshake too.
As for the milk, any kind of milk works great, like skim milk, almond milk, oat milk, or soy milk. With that said though, if you want to make your shake as thick as possible I recommend using whole milk or full fat coconut milk to make it.
By the way, you can use any kind of Oreos to make this shake - Golden Oreos, mint Oreos, or birthday cake Oreos all work great.
How To Make an Oreo Milkshake
As I've mentioned, this milkshake is really quick and easy to make. The entire process to make it will literally take you 1 minute!
I know it sounds too good to be true, but it's not - just check out this video of me making it!
Anyway, let's not waste another second and get shaking!
Step 1: Blend the Ingredients
First, take out a blender, or a food processor. Using a food processor will make the texture almost like soft-serve ice cream, so if that sounds good to you, go with the food processor.
Anyway, now you can add the ice cream, Oreos, milk, and vanilla extract to the blender - or food processor - and blend until all of the ingredients combine into a smooth milkshake.
By the way, if you want your milkshake to be even thicker, you can add in some extra ice cream or a few ice cubes. And if you want it to be thinner, just add in some more milk.
Step 2: Serving
Now, once the milkshake reaches your desired consistency, you can pour it into your favorite glass and top it off with whipped cream.
Oh, and if you want to make it look like it came from an ice cream shop, top the whipped cream with an Oreo and some crushed Oreo cookies. Enjoy!
How to Store a Milkshake
This recipe for an Oreo milkshake will make one large shake, and I highly doubt you'll have any left. If anything, you'll want to make another as soon as it's gone!
But, if you end up with more milkshake than you know what to do with, you can store it in a sealed cup - or airtight container - in the fridge for a few hours. Or, if you want to keep it for even longer, you can freeze it for about a month.
Then, whenever you're ready to drink the frozen milkshake, just let it thaw in the fridge - or at room temperature - and reblend it with a splash of milk.
