The Best Bahama Breeze Jerk Chicken

This Bahama Breezer jerk chicken pasta recipe is one of those meals that your family will be asking for on a regular basis. And since it's so simple to make, I have a feeling that you won't mind whipping it up whenever it's requested.

Now, if you don't know, Bahama Breeze is a chain of Caribbean-themed restaurants, and if you've ever had their jerk chicken pasta, then you know how delicious it is. But, if you've never tried it, you're in for one of the tastiest pasta dishes ever!

This Bahama Breeze jerk chicken pasta recipe consists of fresh veggies, juicy chicken breasts coated in jerk seasoning, and pasta to soak up all of the delicious flavors in the dish.

By the way, to make the meal even better, I always serve it with these Jamaican fried dumplings. They tie in perfectly and they also can help cut some of the spiciness of it as well.

Also, since there's quite a bit of passive cooking time in this Bahama Breezer jerk chicken pasta recipe, you'll have plenty of time to make those fried dumplings I just mentioned along with it.

    Ingredients

So, you'll need quite a few ingredients to make this Bahama Breeze Jerk Chicken recipe. But, of course, all of that flavor has to come from somewhere.

With that said though, all of the ingredients are common ones that you can easily find at your nearest grocery store.

Anyway, here are the ingredients you'll need:

    • About 9 oz. Penne Pasta
    • 3 Tbsp. Jerk Seasoning
    • 1 Chicken Breast
    • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
    • ½ Red Bell Pepper, sliced
    • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper, sliced
    • 1 Onion, sliced
    • 1 Jalapeno, minced
    • 1 Garlic Clove, chopped
    • ½ Cup Chicken broth (low-sodium)
    • ¾ Cup Heavy cream or half and half
    • Salt and pepper
    • Parsley

    Not too bad, right?

And you can actually use almost all of these ingredients to make this rasta pasta recipe next! Oh, and for another really tasty chicken pasta recipe give this copycat Cheesecake Factory chicken piccata recipe a shot next.

An overhead view of a bowl with a raw chicken breast, a bowl of uncooked pasta noodles, a bowl of chicken broth, a small bowl of oil, a small bowl of cilantro, a small bowl of jerk seasoning, a small bowl of minced garlic, and a small bowl of diced jalapeno.

    Diving Into The Ingredients

Now, I chose penne pasta because I love the way the seasoning seeps into the hollow holes of the pasta. Plus, as an added benefit it also helps thicken the sauce a little bit. However, feel free to use bow tie pasta, linguine, rotini, or any other kind of pasta you want! If I don't use penne, my other go-to is always bow tie pasta.

As for the jerk seasoning, to make this recipe a little quicker and to give it that spot-on flavor, I like to use store-bought instead of homemade jerk seasoning. I like to use this mild one from Walkerswood so it's not as spicy but still has all of the classic flavors. But you can use anyone you want with any spice level!

Oh, and if you don't like one of the veggies used, feel free to leave it out and add in anything you want!

How to Make Bahama Breeze Jerk Chicken

Making this recipe is a breeze - pun intended!

Seriously though, it consists of just a few simple steps and takes just over 30 minutes to make a creamy and delicious pasta dish that will make you look like a culinary professional.

Just take note that this recipe makes 2 generous servings - so it's perfect for date night. However, if you're serving it for a family dinner, you'll want to double or triple the recipe.

Now, let's not waste any more time, and get right into the recipe.

An overhead shot of a strainer with cooked pasta noodles.

    Step 1: Cooking the Pasta

Ok, so for this step you can simply follow the directions on the pasta box, but you will want to cook the noodles for 2-3 minutes less than the instructed time. Doing this will cook the noodles Al Dente and that's exactly how you'll want them to be so you don't overcook them later on.

    Step 2: Cooking the Chicken

First, thoroughly cover the chicken breasts on both sides with the jerk seasoning, and use your hands to press it into the chicken.

Now preheat the oven to 400⁰F (205°C). Then, while the oven's heating up, put a non-stick skillet on the stovetop over medium-high and add a bit of olive oil to it.

Now, once the oil is heated, put the chicken breasts in the skillet and sear for a minute - or two - on both sides until dark brown. Then, transfer the chicken breasts to a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

When the chicken is done, take it out of the oven, transfer it to a plate, and cover it up to keep it warm.

Step 3: Mixing the Pasta with sauce

Now, while the chicken is baking in the oven, add another dash of olive oil to the skillet you just used and sautée the peppers, garlic, onions, and jalapeños for 10 minutes - or until soft.

Next, add the chicken broth and heavy cream and cook for 10 more minutes until it starts to thicken up.

Then finally, add the pasta, green onions, and parsley to the skillet and mix everything together to coat it in the sauce. Serve with the chicken on top of the pasta and enjoy!

How to Store Bahama Breeze Jerk Chicken

As I mentioned earlier, this recipe makes only 2 servings, and it's so delicious it's hard to have any leftovers.

However, if you do happen to have any leftovers, you can store your Bahama Breeze jerk chicken pasta in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.

To store it, allow everything to cool down to room temperature. Then, put the jerk chicken and the pasta into two separate airtight containers and immediately place those containers into the fridge.

How to Reheat Bahama Breeze Jerk Chicken

Honestly, my favorite part about this Bahama Breeze jerk chicken pasta copycat recipe might be how delicious it is reheated. I have a little trick that I like to use to make the pasta extra good. And, it's a tactic I take from this fried spaghetti recipe.

First, heat up a skillet over medum-high heat with a little bit of olive oil in it. Then, when the oil is hot, add the pasta and chicken to the skillet and cook for a few minutes, constantly stirring everything around. Once it reaches your desired temperature, take the pasta off the heat and serve.

By the way, if you want, you can also bake the pasta in the oven to warm it back up.

    Wrapping It All Up

Well, that's how to make Bahama Breeze jerk chicken pasta that tastes as if it came straight from the restaurant.

This is seriously one of the best pasta dishes you can make if you like sweet and spicy flavors with a mix of fresh veggies, chicken, and pasta.

Honestly, you'll be amazed by how much of a culinary masterpiece you're able to make in just over 30 minutes!
