In fact, the entire thing takes under 30 minutes from start to finish. And this rasta pasta recipe is not just easy to make, it's also incredibly versatile! While the roasted peppers and sweet crunchy onions elevate the dish to a more full-bodied taste experience, you can always add in - or take out - anything you want!
I personally love enjoying it as is with the jerk seasoning - the dish is a delicious fusion with such fresh flavors. Plus, the spicy and unique textures bring an entirely new taste experience you can't get in any other pasta dish.
By the way, to bring the experience to another level, make these Jamaican Fried Dumplings, and you'll have a meal to remember.

INGREDIENTS
So, this recipe is made with all fresh ingredients to create a whole lot of flavor. And if you don't have a few of them, you can easily pick them up from your local grocery store!
With that said, here's everything you'll need:
- 1 pound pasta
- 2 chicken breasts
- 3 tablespoons jerk seasoning
- 3 bell peppers
- ½ cup green onions sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ cup vegetable or chicken stock
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup parmesan cheese grated
As I mentioned, this rasta pasta is extremely versatile, and you can adjust the jerk seasoning however you want.
Not a fan of spicy food? Don't worry - simply reduce or omit the amount of jerk seasoning you add. Or you can adjust it to make Caribbean seasonings.
And if you want to up the veggies, add in some broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, or anything else you want!
Oh, and you don't have to use red bell peppers, green bell peppers, and yellow bell peppers. The different colors just add to the visual appeal with the colorful bell peppers, but any bell peppers will work.
By the way, you can use any type of pasta noodles for this recipe like penne pasta, shells, spaghetti, or anything else.

HOW TO MAKE RASTA PASTA
The cooking process for this pasta recipe is one of the simplest ones you'll come across. Everything cooks in the same pan, making it easy to cook and easy to clean up!
For this reason, I think it makes a fantastic dinner recipe to make for the family on busy weeknights.
Anyway, get out the ingredients, and get ready to dive into some delicious rasta pasta!

STEP 1: PREP
Preparing some of the components ahead of time is essential for a quick and easy cooking experience.
So, start by cooking any pasta you want according to the package instructions until it's al dente.
Next, put a large pan over medium-high heat, add the oil and add then the boneless skinless chicken breasts to it as well. Now, sprinkle the jerk seasoning onto the chicken and work the chicken around the pan until it's completely coated in the seasoning.
Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until it's golden and cooked through - 165°F.
Once it's cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside.

STEP 2: CREATING THE PASTA
Now add some vegetable oil - or olive oil - to the pan, as well as the sliced bell peppers and onions, and saute for a few minutes. Then, add the minced garlic to the same skillet and cook until it's fragrant.
Next, add the rest of the jerk seasoning, the heavy cream, chicken stock, and chicken back to the pan. Simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens, then mix in the grated parmesan cheese and cooked shells or penne pasta.
Finally, put the pasta on a plate and garnish with chopped chives, green onions - or parsley - and enjoy!

How to Store Rasta Pasta
So, this rasta pasta recipe will make about 6 servings which makes it perfect for a big family dinner.
Then, if you have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
If you want to reheat the pasta, my favorite way is to put everything back in a pan over medium heat until warm.
You can also use the microwave, but frying the pasta is definitely the best way. You'll get a similar texture to this Fried Spaghetti, which is just delicious!
