And, if you're the same way, then you're going to love this recipe. These Instant Pot sloppy joes have everything you love from the classic version and then some.
The meat is tender and juicy and it's covered in a rich sauce that has the perfect balance of flavors - it's not too sweet, and not too tangy.
Then, the meat is put between buttery soft hamburger buns that soak up all that tasty sloppy joe sauce and hold everything in place. Well, as much as possible anyway - I mean, they're called sloppy joes for a reason!
Now, speaking from experience, if you serve these for a family dinner, everyone will be asking you to do sloppy joes Instant Pot style on a regular basis - so, uh, don't hesitate to pass this recipe along to 'em!
The good thing about this recipe though is that you can make 4 - or more - of these homemade sloppy joes with simple pantry staples in less than 30 minutes!
And if you want to kick this recipe up a notch, you can also prepare some coleslaw to serve alongside it. The coleslaw recipe only takes 10 minutes to make, so you can make it while the sloppy joes are cooking!

HOW TO MAKE INSTANT POT SLOPPY JOES
These Instant Pot sloppy joes are probably one of the easiest and quickest meals you'll ever make.
All you really have to do is prep the ingredients and give them a quick sauté - which will only take about 10 minutes - then let the pressure cooker do the rest!
So, let's not waste any more time and dive into the good stuff.
STEP 1: SAUTE
First, start the Instant Pot on sauté mode and add your butter, garlic powder, chopped onion, and green bell pepper. Then Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
Next, while still on sauté mode, add your ground beef and break up any large chunks with a wooden spoon.
Then continue cooking on sauté until the meat starts to brown, and then add the BBQ sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
STEP 2: PRESSURE COOK
After adding those ingredients, close the lid and set your Instant Pot to cook at low pressure for 20 minutes.
When your Instant Pot is done cooking, release the steam by turning the valve knob from the sealed to venting position using an oven mitt.
Then when the valve drops down, open the lid and add a few drops of liquid smoke if you want a more smokey flavor.
Once your sloppy joes are ready, scoop them onto the brioche buns, and enjoy!
HOW TO STORE SLOPPY JOES
These Instant Pot sloppy joes make fantastic leftovers, and they're just as delicious warmed up as they are freshly cooked.
But fair warning, if you want extras for the next few days, you'll want to make more than the recipe suggests because these sloppy joes disappear fast!
Anyways, your leftover sloppy joes can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. And it goes without saying - you should only add your sloppy joes to the brioche buns if you're going to serve them immediately.
Also, these Instant Pot sloppy joes freeze really well. Whip up a double or triple batch, and you can freeze the leftovers for up to 3 months for future last-minute dinners!
REHEATING SLOPPY JOES
I think the best way to heat up sloppy joes at home is by putting them on the sauté mode in the Instant Pot - they'll taste just as good as they did freshly cooked!
Of course, you can also add them to a pan on the stovetop and sauté until warm.
Or, if you're in a rush, you can heat them in the microwave for about 40 seconds or until they reach your desired temperature.
And if you're reheating your frozen sloppy joe, just make sure you thaw them in the fridge before reheating.
WRAPPING IT ALL UP
So that's how to make homemade Instant Pot sloppy joes! This quick and easy recipe is out of this world delicious, insanely easy to make, and super satisfying to eat.
It's a great meal to make for family dinners and small gatherings because it's always a guaranteed hit with both kids and adults! Also, since the leftovers store so well, you can make these for meal prep for the week, or as a pre-made dinner option - we do that quite often ourselves.
