    THE BEST EGG FRIED RICE

This egg fried rice recipe consists of a fried egg, a mix of veggies, a crazy good stir fry-like sauce, a little spam or ham, and a touch of sweetness.

I know the combination of this Chinese egg fried rice seems a little over the top, but trust me, everything goes together so well. Seriously, the freshly cooked rice with all of the elements creates one flavor-filled stir fry like fried rice dish.

Now, this isn't a traditional egg fried rice recipe, but I think it's even better than the other egg fried rice variations.

This egg fried rice goes with pretty much anything, but it's filled with so much awesomeness that it really makes a great main meal. If you want to serve this easy egg fried rice with something, I have a ton of suggestions, but more on that later.

Now, my favorite part about this Chinese egg fried rice is everything cooks together in the same pan!

So the cooking process - and clean up - is super quick and easy. If you love one pan meals like this egg fried rice, you have to give this beijing beef cooked with light soy sauce a try next for another stir fry inspired meal.

    INGREDIENTS

So, you'll need some common ingredients for this recipe and maybe one or two that you don't typically use.

But you can find everything at your nearest grocery store, so you'll want to make a trip and grab anything you don't have!

Here are all of the ingredients you need to make this easy egg fried rice:

    • 2 Eggs
    • 2 tsp. Fish Sauce
    • 2 tsp. Sugar
    • 1 tbsp. Butter
    • 2 tbsp. Sesame Oil
    • 2 tsp. Ginger, chopped
    • 2 tsp. Garlic, chopped
    • ¼ cup Green Onion, sliced
    • 1 cup Frozen Veggies (carrots, peas, corn, snap peas, etc.)
    • 2 cups Rice, cooked
    • 2 tbsp. Hoisin Sauce
    • 2 tbsp. Soy Sauce
    • ¼ cup Spam (or ham), cut in cubes

I know the list seems long, but it's worth picking up every single ingredient. They truly combine to make the most delicious egg fried rice.

Now, brow rice, basmati rice, or Jasmine rice all work great to make this easy egg fried rice, so whichever you choose, it'll be delicious.

By the way, if you have to run to the store, stock up on a few of these ingredients because you can use them to make this General Tso Shrimp!

Oh, and if you want to try a few other fried rice recipes, this Benihana fried rice, cajun fried rice, and Uncle Roger rice are great choices.

HOW TO MAKE THIS EGG FRIED RICE

As I'm sure you can guess, making this easy egg fried rice is quite simple and doesn't take much effort at all.

In fact, there are only 3 steps you'll need to follow to make it - frying the egg, cooking the veggies, and combining everything with the rice.

So with all of that said, gather your ingredients, and let's make this amazing fried rice!

STEP 1: MAKING THE FRIED EGG

Ok, the first step of making this fried rice is making the fried egg. So crack the eggs in a bowl, add the fish sauce and the sugar, and use a fork to combine everything.

Then, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter in it. Next, add the egg mixture to the skillet.

Once it solidifies and forms a tortilla, fold the edges in so you have a long strip of fried egg. Then remove it from the skillet, cut it into slices, and set it aside.

    STEP 2: ADDING SOME FLAVOR

So, you should have your rice cooked and ready to go before moving on.

In the same skillet you just cooked the egg in, add the sesame oil, ginger, and garlic and heat on medium for a minute.

Then add the green onion and cook for a few minutes until everything's fragrant.

Next, add the frozen veggies mix and stir everything in the skillet to combine.

STEP 3: COMPLETING THE FRIED RICE

Now add the cooked rice, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce to the skillet.

Then turn up the heat to high and cook everything for a couple of minutes.

Next, move the fried rice mixture over the side of the skillet and add the spam. Cook it on each side until browned, then mix all of the ingredients together.

Finally, serve immediately with the slices of egg on top to complete the egg fried rice and enjoy!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH THIS FRIED RICE

As I mentioned earlier, this egg fried rice makes a great meal by itself since it's filled with so much tastiness.

But if you want to eat it as a side or are sharing it with a couple of people, we have some recipes on the blog that pair perfectly with the egg fried rice.

Try making one of these to go with this perfect egg fried rice:

    • Blackened Shrimp

    HOW TO STORE FRIED RICE

So, you'll get about 4 half-cup servings out of this fried rice recipe. If you have leftovers, just transfer them to an airtight container, and they'll last in the fridge for about 3 days.

And if you want to save it for longer, transfer the fried rice to freezer-safe bags, and you can freeze it for up to 3 months!

Then to reheat the fried rice - refrigerated or frozen - you can just put it back on a skillet over medium heat until it reaches your desired temperature. Just make sure you stir everything frequently, so it heats up evenly.
