    The Best Churro Cheesecake

If you're looking for a simple and delectable dessert, you've come to the right place.

This churro cheesecake is one of the best cheesecake recipes you'll find.

I took two classic desserts with inspiration from Lil Luna and merged them together to make a churro cheesecake!

Honestly, it's one of the tastiest cinnamon treats you'll have. It has a flaky crust and a smooth and creamy cheesecake filling all tied together with a classic churro flavor.

Gah, these bars are so good! And they're so, so easy to make.

I'd have to put this at the top of my list of favorite cheesecake recipes, right next to this Philadelphia no bake cheesecake.

Five churro cheesecake bars sitting on parchment paper topped with cinnamon and sugar. A jar full of cinnamon and sugar sits next to it with a spoon full of cinnamon and sugar.

    Ingredients

So, this churro cheesecake recipe uses only 6 simple ingredients!

And they're all baking staples so you might have them at home already.

Here's what you'll need to make some churro cheesecake deliciousness:

    • ½ cup Sugar
    • 1 tbsp. Cinnamon
    • 2 8 oz. Packages cream cheese
    • 1 Egg
    • ½ cup Sugar
    • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
    • 1 Can Crescent Roll Dough

    Not too shabby, eh?!

And trust me when I say this, these churro cheesecake bars are way easier to make than a traditional cheesecake.

With that said, the main ingredient that makes it so easy to make is using puff pastry dough sheets. The puff pastry makes a perfectly sweet and flaky crust that surrounds the sweet and tangy cream cheese filling. Honestly, using the sheets is like a cheesecake bar cheat code.

Also, if you want to make the ultimate churro cheesecake experience, add a drizzle of flavored syrup on top of the cinnamon sugar mix. My favorite is a drizzle of caramel sauce or chocolate sauce because it perfectly with cinnamon and sugar.

By the way, you can use a lot of these ingredients to make these easy snickerdoodle cookies. So, stock up on them and make those tasty cookies next!

How to Make Churro Cheesecake Bars

As I mentioned before, this recipe is super simple to make. It only has 4 basic steps, the ingredients are so easy to work with, and it takes about 35 minutes total.

So, without wasting any more time, let's get to making this delicious churro cheesecake!

An overhead view of an electric mixer beating room temperature cream cheese and a large mixing bowl.

    Step 1: Prepare the Crust

First, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a rectangular baking dish with cooking spray. Oh, and just so you know, any size baking dish will work as long as you can shape the puff pastry to fit in it.

Next, you're going to start by, cutting your crescent roll dough sheet into 2 rectangles to fit your pan. You'll be using one rectangle for the bottom crust and the other for the top crust. Pro-tip, use your baking dish to act as a guide to cut around the shape.

I'm mixing bowl with electric beaters mixing cheesecake filling.

Step 2: Mix the Cheesecake Filling

Now mix the ½ cup of sugar with the cinnamon in a small bowl, stir to combine the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly, and set it aside.

Next, using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese till smooth. You'll want to make sure the cream cheese is softened to make this process easier.

Once the room temperature cream cheese is smooth, add the other ½ cup of sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the bowl and beat until a smooth and combine cream cheese mixture forms.

    Step 3: Building the Cheesecake

Now, grab your greased baking pan and distribute half of the cinnamon and sugar mixture to the bottom of the pan.

Then, place one of the pastry sheets on top of the cinnamon-sugar layer.

Next, pour the cream cheese layer evenly onto the bottom crust and cover it with the other pastry sheet. Lastly, top the pastry sheet with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.

Step 4: Bake the Churro Cheesecake and Serve

Finally, put the baking pan in the oven and bake the cheesecake for 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Then, let it cool, and cut it into any sized squares - or rectangles - that you want. Serve immediately or transfer to the fridge.

    Enjoy!

Delicious. I think next time I'll serve it with some vanilla ice cream. I have a feeling it would be grand.
