    The Best McDonald's Iced Coffee

McDonald's is known for a lot of things. But, the iced coffee they serve typically isn't something that comes to mind when you think of one of the most well-known fast food chains in the world.

But there's just something special about the iced coffee at McDonald's. Atleast I think there is. And, well, if you're reading this you probably feel the same way too.

The premium roast coffee is mixed with sweet, tasty cream, and it just hits different.

Anyway, what if I told you you can make the same iced coffee recipe at home? And then, what if I told you it tastes the same, if not better?

    Well, it's true!

And it only takes a few minutes and hardly any effort. That's why I this iced coffee recipe is the perfect thing to make on your way out the door to work. Or as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Also, if you're hosting a brunch, it's the best way to offer coffee to your guests. Set up a make-your-own coffee bar with flavored syrups and various toppings. Trust me, they'll love it!

Plus, there are so many ways you can customize your iced coffee. And if you really want to get fancy, you could even turn your coffee into an iced caramel macchiato! But we'll get into that later.

Oh, and if you're looking for more recipes like this one, try our Starbucks Iced white chocolate mocha, Salted caramel cream cold brew, or pumpkin cold brew. And if you want a change up from coffee, this brown sugar milk tea or this Thai tea are tasty options to make at home.

Anyway, with all that said, let's get into the ingredients you'll need to make this Mcdonald's iced coffee.

    Ingredients

So as you can imagine, the ingredients to make this McDonalds iced coffee recipe are super simple. And, honestly, if you're used to making your morning coffee, you probably already have everything you need.

Here's what you need to make two servings of McDonalds iced coffee:

    • 2 Cups Coffee
    • Ice
    • ⅔ cup Half and Half Creamer
    • 2 tbsp. Simple Syrup, or Sugar
    • Whipped Cream, to Serve

    Super simple, right?

Seriously, it's as simple as making this vanilla sweet cream cold foam, which uses a lot of the same ingredients.

    Customizing Your Iced Coffee

So, the first place to start is with coffee flavors. If you want to jazz up your iced coffee with a different taste, I suggest using a flavored syrup. It's the most efficient way to add some extra flavor to your drink.

Honestly, there are so many flavors out there like vanilla, mocha, and caramel. If you wanted to make a mocha iced coffee, you can mix in some chocolate syrup along with the mocha syrup.

And if want to make this iced coffee sugar free, you can use sugar free french vanilla syrup to make a sugar free french vanilla iced coffee. These are just a few ideas to get you started.

By the way, not only can you get more flavor with syrups, but you can also use flavored coffee beans! Whichever flavor coffee bean you choose will make your premium-roast coffee taste delicious.

Oh, and if you don't want to use half and half, you can use any creamer of your choice, including flavored creamers. But half and half is how McDonald's makes it.

So, now that you know just how you're going to customize your iced coffee, let's move on to how to make McDonald's iced coffee at home.

A glass with two big ice cubes, a pitcher with half and half, and coffee picture containing black coffee.

How to Make McDonalds Iced Coffee

As I mentioned, this recipe makes 2 servings. So, it's perfect if you want a large cup, another one later in the day, or one for tomorrow.

Also, this recipe has 3 simple steps, and it should only take about 5 minutes, so you can whip it up every morning if you want!

A glass containing homemade McDonald's iced coffee, a pitcher of half and half is being poured into it.

    Step 1: Brew The Coffee

First, you'll want to make sure you have brewed coffee ready to go. I suggest making a large pot of coffee early in the week and then refrigerating it, so it's ready to go each morning.

Then you can easily pour a cup on your way out the door. Brewed coffee, when kept black, will last in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Just make sure to store it in an airtight container like a mason jar.

With that said, if you don't have coffee ready, you can brew a fresh pot in the morning and still make this iced coffee!

A glass containing iced coffee with cream in it sitting on a saucer.

    Step 2: Pour The Coffe

Now you'll want to fill two glasses - or to-go cups - with iced cubes.

Then, pour the iced coffee or freshly brewed coffee into the glasses/cups.

Next, add the simple syrup and stir to combine it with the coffee.

    Step 3: Add the Cream

Finally, you're going to top the coffee with half and half. And make sure to give it a good stir to fully combine the half and half with the coffee.

Then, to finish up, feel free to top the coffee with whipped cream and any extra toppings you prefer, like a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!

How to Store Mcdonald's iced coffees

So, I mentioned earlier that you can store black coffee in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

But once your iced coffee has cream in it, it will only taste its best in the fridge for a maximum of 2 days.
