How to Make Spinach Pasta
As I mentioned before, the process of making this spinach pasta is so easy.
Essentially, all you have to do is cook the pasta noodles, cook the spinach, make the cream sauce, then mix the ingredients all together. Oh, and since everything cooks in just one skillet, not only is the cooking process a breeze but clean-up is too.
With all that said, let's not waste any more time and get cooking!
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
First things first, bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
Once the noodles are cooked to your desired doneness, reserve ½ cup of the pasta water, then drain the excess water, and set the pasta aside. For what it's worth, I like to undercook my pasta at this point so that it ends up al dente when the dish is done.
By the way, you can use any type of pasta you prefer to make this recipe. The main thing I recommend though is that you use a type of pasta that's big enough to soak up the sauce that we'll be creating in a second.
Having said all of that though, I like to use rigatoni, penne, or sometimes cavatappi pasta when I make this dish.
Step 2: Cook The Spinach
While the pasta is cooking, you can take out a large skillet, add some olive oil to it, and put it over medium heat.
Then, once the oil is hot, you can add the garlic to it and cook it for a minute or two - just until it becomes fragrant.
Next, you can add the spinach to the skillet, season it with salt, and cook it until it's soft and wilted. Also, just keep in mind that you'll want to give the spinach a stir every now and then so it can all wilt evenly.
Step 3: Make The Creamy Spinach Pasta Sauce
Now it's time to make the sauce to complete this creamy spinach pasta.
So, to make it, you'll just want to add the cream cheese to the skillet with the spinach, and then you'll want to slowly pour in the pasta water. Also, while you're gradually adding in the water you'll want to stir everything continuously. You'll want to continue to do this until the cream cheese is completely smooth and creamy.
Just keep in mind that if you add too much water in too quickly, you could end up with a thin pasta sauce, so be careful.
Anyway, next, you'll want to add the parmesan cheese and nutmeg to the sauce and mix until they're well combined into it. Then, once that happens, you can add the cooked pasta to the skillet and give it a good stir to coat it in the cream sauce.
Finally, you can serve this creamy spinach pasta with som grated parmesan cheese and black pepper on top. Enjoy!
How to Store Spinach Pasta
This recipe for spinach pasta will make 4 absolutely delicious servings, so there's a good chance you might have some leftovers. And consider yourself lucky if you do. This creamy spinach pasta is just as good - if not better - the day/s after you make it.
So, if you do end up with leftovers you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days. Alternatively, if you want to store your leftover spinach pasta for even longer, you can freeze it in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag and it'll stay good for up to 1-2 months.
How to Reheat Spinach Pasta
Once you're ready to enjoy this creamy pasta recipe again, it's best if you reheat it.
My favorite way to reheat this pasta - and any pasta really - is in a skillet on the stovetop. Just add the pasta to the skillet with a splash of water and warm over low heat, frequently mixing until it reaches your desired temperature.
With that said, if you'd like to reheat the spinach pasta even quicker you can reheat it in the microwave in 30-second increments - stirring between each one - until it's warm.

With a recipe this good there's no doubt you'll find yourself making this pasta over and over again. Atleast that's the case at my house. Ever since I made this creamy pasta recipe for the first time my wife won't stop asking me to make it.
