    The Best Crack Dip

This super easy crack dip recipe is one of those appetizers that everyone will be talking about. It's incredibly creamy, savory, and packed with flavor from the bacon bits, shredded cheese, and ranch seasoning mix.

    Gah, it's just so good!

I love making this cheesy crack dip recipe whenever I'm hosting a get-together, big or small. It can be served with all sorts of things like crackers, bread, pit chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks - you name it. Honestly, it can make cardboard taste good!

There's truly no other savory dip recipe like it, and I simply can't get enough of it.

Along with everyone always loving it, though, another reason this ranch crack dip is my go-to appetizer is that the whole thing comes together in only a few minutes!

When it comes to serving, this ranch crack dip goes really well with these air fryer tortilla chips and this Little Caesar's crazy bread. Both are just absolutely perfect for spreading the crack dip on.

    Why This Recipe Works

It's quick and easy to make. You just mix all the ingredients in a bowl, and this dip is ready in less than 1 minute!

The best flavor. Creamy, cheesy, and a delicious ranch flavor with bacon in every bite. There's so much to love about this amazing dip.

A crowd-favorite. This is my go-to to make when I'm hosting because everyone goes crazy for it. It's always the talk of the party, so you're guaranteed to have a winner with this recipe.

    Ingredients

The ingredient list for this crack dip recipe is super straightforward. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you have most of them at home already.

Check out what you'll need to make it:

    • 2 cups sour cream
    • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
    • 2 tbsp. Ranch seasoning mix
    • ¼ cup bacon bits
    • ¼ cup green onions, sliced

    Pretty simple stuff, right?!

By the way, if you have all of these ingredients, then you just need some shredded chicken and a few other things to make this crack chicken pasta, crack chicken casserole and crack chicken noodle soup next!

Bowl of shredded cheese, crackers, bread slices, bacon bits, and green onion.

    How To Make Crack Dip

    1. Make the dip: Add the sour cream, cheddar cheese, and Ranch seasoning to a mixing bowl. Give everything a good mix until all of the ingredients fully combine.

    2. Serve: Top the dip with the cooked bacon bit and green onions, and serve with bread, crackers, or veggies for dipping.

Tips To Make The Best Recipe

    • Swap the sour cream for softened cream cheese for a more decadent dip.
    • Use pepper jack cheese, add some hot sauce, and chili powder or cayenne pepper for a hot dip.
    • Try using ranch dressing and cream cheese instead of the ranch dip mix and sour cream.
    • Make the dip ahead of time and chill it in the fridge until you're ready to serve.

    How To Store Crack Dip

This recipe for crack dip makes about two cups worth of dip. If you're planning on serving this sour cream crack dip at a party, I would definitely recommend making a double or triple batch of it because it'll be gone in seconds.

If you have any leftover dip, you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days. It's just as good a few days after you make it as it is the first day.

FAQS About This Crack Dip Recipe

What is crack dip made of?

It's made with a combination of cream cheese or sour cream, shredded cheese, and ranch dressing seasoning mix. The dip is topped with crumbled bacon and green onions for more flavor.

Can I make this dip ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the dip and either cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap or transfer it to an airtight container. Chill the dip in the fridge and serve that day or store for up to 4 days.

How long can you leave this dip out?

You can leave it at room temperature for about an hour to two. After that, you'll want to put the dip back in the refrigerator. If the dip is chilled when serving, you can leave it out a little longer.
