The Best White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

I don't know about you, but I think white chocolate and macadamia nuts are one of the best combinations ever created. I mean, I'd put it right up there next to peanut butter and jelly.

With that said, making white chocolate macadamia nut cookies is by far the best way to use the two ingredients together. And I know I'm biased, but I think this is the best white chocolate macadamia nut cookie recipe you'll find!

These delicious cookies have an incredibly soft and chewy texture with slightly crisp edges. Each bite is filled with a buttery flavor along with the perfect ratio of chopped macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips.

    Gah, they're just so good!

But honestly, that's not even the best part. These white chocolate macadamia nut cookies also happen to be so, so easy to make from scratch. Even if you've never made cookies before, you'll find making these to be beyond simple, and they'll turn out perfect every time!

Now, I love making these white chocolate macadamia nut cookies around the holidays, but they're so good that you'll find reasons to make them all year long. Seriously, these might be the only cookies you want to make after you take your first bite.

By the way, if you're in need of even more easy cookie recipes for the holidays, you have to give these blueberry cookies, no bake Christmas cookies, and small batch sugar cookies a try too!

Baking sheet lined with parchment paper with freshly baked cookies spread evenly on the baking sheet and one cookie broken in half.

    Ingredients

The ingredient list for these white chocolate macadamia nut cookies is pretty straightforward. If you're a regular baker, then you probably have all of the ingredients you'll need at home waiting for you!

Anyway, here's what you'll need for these white chocolate macadamia nut cookies:

    • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
    • ¾ cup granulated sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
    • ½ tsp. baking powder
    • ½ tsp. baking soda
    • 1 tsp. corn starch
    • ¼ tsp. salt
    • 1 cup macadamia nuts
    • 1 cup white chocolate chips

    See, pretty simple stuff, right?

Now, when it comes to macadamia nuts, I recommend toasted and salted macadamia nuts since they tend to have a lot more flavor and really stand out in this recipe.

If you just have salted macadamia nuts and want to toast them, you can easily do that by putting them on a baking sheet and cooking them in an oven set to 325°F for about 10-12 minutes or until they are slightly darker in color.

Oh, and if you have the ingredients above - plus Milky Bars and brown sugar - then you can easily make these milky bar cookies next! They're another one of my favorite white chocolate cookies.

An assortment of ingredients including bowls of flour, white chocolate chips, an egg, vanilla extract, butter, and sugar.

How To Make White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

As I mentioned before, this white chocolate macadamia nut cookie recipe is fairly simple to make, and it comes together in just a few minutes, plus an hour in the refrigerator and 10 minutes in the oven.

So, if you want to save time, then I recommend making the cookie dough the night before you want to bake your cookies. Just remember to let the cookie dough rest on the counter for a few minutes before you form the cookie dough balls.

Anyway, I know you're excited to get going, so let's stop wasting time and make white chocolate macadamia nut cookies!

A white mixing bowl with butter and sugar in the bowl, not yet mixed together. The bowl is surrounded by ingredients including white chocolate chips, macadamia nuts, and vanilla extract.

Step 1: Make The Cookie Dough

First, take out an electric mixer or stand mixer and beat the butter and sugar together in a bowl for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture is super creamy and smooth.

Then you can add the vanilla extract and egg and continue beating for 1 more minute until they combine with the creamy mixture.

After that, take out a second large bowl and add the dry ingredients to it. That would be the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Now give these ingredients a mix until they combine, then add them to the bowl of wet ingredients.

Next, mix the wet and dry ingredients together slowly with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula until they are fully incorporated. Then to finish off the dough, you can add the macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips and fold the dough until they're well incorporated.

Now refrigerate the dough for about 1 hour. Doing this will make the cookies extra soft and chewy and just give them the best overall texture.

    Step 2: Form The Cookies

Once the dough is almost done refrigerating, you can preheat the oven to 350°F (180ºC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Then, using either your hands or a cookie scooper (or ice cream scoop), make 1 tablespoon sized balls out of the dough and arrange the dough balls about 2 inches apart from each other on the baking sheet. By the way, depending on the size of your baking sheet, you may have to bake the cookies in batches.

    Step 3: Bake The cookies

Now comes the best part, baking the cookies!

You can put the first round of cookies in the oven for about 10 minutes or until they reach your desired doneness. If you like your cookies more undercooked, you can take them out earlier at around the eight minute mark.

Once the cookies are done, you can pull them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Finally, take a bite of one of these delicious white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and enjoy!

How To Store White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

This recipe for white chocolate macadamia nut cookies makes about 20 cookies.

If you're serving them at a party, it's safe to say you probably won't have any leftovers. But if you're making them for yourself and your family, then you will probably have some leftover cookies to enjoy all week long!

So if you have leftovers, you can store the leftover cookies in an airtight container or Ziploc bag with the extra air squeezed out of it at room temperature for about 5 days.

If you want your cookies to last even longer, you can freeze them in an airtight container - or a freezer bag - for up to 9 months.

Then whenever the cravings for these white chocolate macadamia nut cookies hit, you can enjoy one as is or warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds.

    Wrapping It Up

Well, that's how to make white chocolate macadamia nut cookies!

These homemade macadamia nut cookies are seriously irresistible. They have a delightfully soft and chewy texture with a sweet, buttery flavor that is just addictive.
