The Best Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo
Olive Garden's fettuccine alfredo is the best thing on the menu, and I challenge anyone to tell me otherwise. And since I've pretty much made every other Olive Garden copycat recipe, I had to recreate the shrimp alfredo Olive Garden serves.
Now, I know I'm biased, but I think this copycat version turned out even better than the one you'd get at the restaurant!
I mean, from the tender cooked shrimp and fettuccini noodles to the rich and savory alfredo sauce, what's not to love about that?!
Plus, in addition to tasting incredible, this shrimp fettuccine alfredo is a breeze to make. You basically just cook the noodles and the shrimp, then build the alfredo sauce in the same pan and mix everything together. So not only is making this recipe easy, but cleanup is too!
By the way, if you're wondering what to serve with shrimp alfredo, I personally love this Little Caesar's crazy bread or this air fryer garlic bread. Both are so delicious dipped in the sauce.
Ingredients
One of the things I love most about this Olive Garden shrimp alfredo copycat recipe is how simple the ingredients are. Honestly, you probably have a few of them on hand already!
Anyway, here are all of the Olive Garden shrimp alfredo ingredients:
- 0.5lb. fettucine or tagliatelle pasta
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 0.75lb. shrimps, peeled and deveined
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup hot pasta water
- 1 small egg yolk
- ¾ cup parmesan cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Pretty easy, right?!
Now, if you want to make a thicker, more creamy sauce, then you can add cream cheese to the sauce. Just a few tablespoons should do the trick.
As for the shrimp, you can use fresh or frozen precooked shrimp, whichever's easiest for you. And if you want to turn this into an Olive Garden seafood alfredo recipe, feel free to add scallops and mussels.
Oh, and if you love alfredo sauce any to make another Olive Garden recipe, you can use most of these ingredients to make my Olive Garden chicken alfredo, so you'll definitely want to give that a try next!
How To Make Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo
As I mentioned earlier, making this copycat Olive Garden shrimp alfredo recipe is about as easy as it gets. After all, how can you beat a recipe that comes together in 15 minutes in just one pan?!
Anyway, let's not waste another second and get cooking!
Step 1: Cook The Pasta
First, you'll want to cook the pasta according to the package directions. Make sure to keep an eye on the time so you don't accidentally overcook the pasta. It's definitely better al dente in this recipe instead of mushy pasta.
Anyway, after it cooks, you'll want to reserve ¼ cup of the pasta water for the sauce before draining the cooked pasta.
Step 2: Cook The Shrimp
While the pasta is cooking, you can take out a large skillet and melt the butter in it over medium-high heat.
Once the butter melts, you can add the shrimp to the skillet and season it with salt and pepper. Then let the shrimp cook for a few minutes on each side until it turns pink. As soon as the shrimp cooks, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
Step 3: Make The Sauce
Now in the same skillet you just cooked the shrimp in, you'll want to add the remaining butter to it. Then you can add the garlic and cook until it's fragrant.
Next, whisk in the heavy cream slowly to make sure that it doesn't curdle. Then, you can whisk the egg with the pasta water and set it aside for a minute.
After that, you can add the parmesan cheese to the heavy cream and mix until the cheese melts. Then once it does, you can whisk in the egg yolk and pasta water mixture and mix until everything combines into an alfredo sauce.
Step 4: Complete The Pasta Dish
Now that the sauce is good to go, you can remove it from the heat and add shrimp and pasta back to the skillet. Then you'll want to mix and toss everything together to coat the pasta and shrimp in the sauce.
Finally, you can serve your fettuccine alfredo warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
Enjoy!
How To Store Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo
This recipe for Olive Garden shrimp alfredo makes 2 servings, so it's perfect for a date night dinner or to enjoy all by yourself. Of course, you can always double or triple the recipe if you want to have more servings!
Then if you have any leftovers, you can store them by transferring the cooked alfredo to an airtight container, and it'll last in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. And if you want to keep it for longer, either freeze it in a freezer-safe bag or an airtight container for up to 3 months.
How To Reheat Shrimp Alfredo
When you're ready to enjoy your leftovers, you'll definitely want to reheat the pasta.
So, to reheat your leftover fettuccini alfredo, I suggest using the skillet. Just transfer the creamy shrimp pasta back to a skillet set over medium heat and let everything simmer for a few minutes, stirring frequently until it reaches your desired temperature.
