Tips To Make The Best Recipe
- Make homemade chili for an even better flavor.
- Top the hot dog casserole with your favorite chili dog toppings, like sour cream, diced tomatoes, minced onions, avocado slices, pickled jalapeños, or extra shredded cheese.
- Feel free to use your favorite hot dogs, like beef hot dogs, veggie hot dogs, or even spicy Italian sausages.
- Saute the hot dogs until they're lightly browned on both sides before adding them to the filling to get even more flavor out of them.
- Arrange tater tots in an even layer across the casserole dish so they get crispy on all sides.
How To Store Hot Dog Casserole
In the fridge: Store the leftover hot dog casserole in an airtight container or in a baking dish with a lid on it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
In the freezer: Allow the leftover hot dog tater tot casserole to cool completely, then transfer it to a freezer-safe airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months.
Reheating: Put the casserole back in a baking dish and warm it in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes or until it reaches your desired temperature. Let the frozen casserole thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating, or add some more reheating time.
