An Easy No Bake Pie
I love a good no bake dessert, and this Cool Whip pie is definitely one of my favorites. It's been my go-to recipe when I don't have a lot of time and need something I can prepare in minutes. It's ideal to make ahead of time and is the perfect sweet treat for all occasions. Perfect for if you're hosting, so you can spend less time in the kitchen or need something convenient to bring over to a friend's house.
this Cool Whip pie has quickly become one of my family's most requested desserts. And I think that's because it's so light yet rich and creamy, almost like cheesecake, but way easier to make. It's also a no-bake recipe that can easily be made in advance if you're hosting.
Why You'll Love This Recipe
The filling is amazing. It's super rich and creamy, almost like a cheesecake, but it has more of a light and fluffy texture that's so satisfying.
It saves a ton of time. To make this recipe, you just need to mix the filling ingredients, spread it over the crust, and let it set in the freezer. It should take you no more than five minutes to prepare!
It's a great beginner pie recipe. Since it's so simple to make, this is the ideal foolproof pie for every baking level. It's even a great recipe to make with kids. My nieces have helped me mix the filling and assemble the pie a handful of times, and they love it!
Ingredients You'll Need
- Cool Whip- for that dreamy light and airy texture. If it's frozen, let it thaw in the fridge for easier mixing.
- Greek yogurt- I used vanilla Greek yogurt for the added flavor.
- Chocolate graham cracker pie crust- storebought so it's more convenient to make this recipe. I love the chocolate flavor, but you can also use regular graham cracker crust if you prefer.
- Fresh fruit- Optional for topping the pie. I used fresh strawberries and blueberries.
How To Make Cool Whip Pie
Step 1: Mix the filling. In a large mixing bowl, beat the Cool Whip and yogurt of your choice. I used an electric mixer at low speed, but you can also gently fold the ingredients together with a rubber spatula. Pour this mixture into the pie crust and gently smooth out the top.
Step 2: Freeze the pie. Put the pie in the freezer and chill for 2 hours. If you plan to leave it in the freezer for longer than 2 hours, cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent it from drying out.
Step 3: Add the toppings and serve. Remove the pie from the freezer about 20 minutes before serving so it can soften. Arrange the sliced strawberries and blueberries on the top of the pie if desired. Cut into about eight slices, serve, and enjoy.
Recipe Variations
- Try using different flavored yogurt to change the flavor of the filling.
- Top the pie with an assortment of different fruits.
- Mix a cup of creamy peanut butter into the filling to make a no bake peanut butter pie.
- Use an Oreo crust and fold Oreos into the filling for the ultimate cookies and cream pie. You can make your own Oreo pie crust using the recipe from my Mississippi mud pie.
- For a S' mores pie, mix chocolate chips and mini marshmallows into the filling and use a regular graham cracker crust.
- Mix two tablespoons of cocoa powder and ¼ cup of sugar into the filling to make a chocolate Cool Whip pie.
- Serve the pie with caramel sauce or chocolate sauce drizzled on top.
How To Store Cool Whip Pie
The filling keeps best in the freezer, so you can freeze any leftover pie for up to 3 months. Either cover the pie with the lid that came with the crust, wrap it in plastic wrap then aluminum foil, or transfer the slices to a freezer-safe airtight container. When you're ready to enjoy it again, let it thaw at room temperature or in the fridge.
