    The Best Texas Roadhouse Rolls

There's nothing better than serving up warm dinner rolls, and these Texas Roadhouse dinner rolls with cinnamon honey butter take it to another level!

Honestly, of all the Texas Roadhouse copycat recipes I've recreated, this roll recipe might be my favorite one so far. I mean, come on! The rolls are the best part about going to TR, am I right?!

Well, let me tell ya, this copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls recipe just hits the mark on everything. They're super soft, totally light and airy, a little tangy, and melt in your mouth good. Then, when you pair 'em with the classic sweet cinnamon honey butter - yep, I've got a recipe for that too - you honestly will think you died and went to heaven - or, uh, Texas Roadhouse! LOL.

Anyway, in addition to tasting delicious, these copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls also happen to be a breeze to make. Even if you don't consider yourself a professional baker, you can make these rolls. In fact, all you need to follow are 5 simple steps, and you'll have them whipped up in no time.

Also, since most of the hard work for making these dinner rolls is done in the oven, you'll have plenty of time to whip up the main course. For what it's worth, I love serving these warm golden brown rolls with this Texas Roadhouse chili.

    Ingredients

One of the best things about making these homemade Texas Roadhouse rolls is that you only need a few basic baking ingredients to make 'em. In fact, I bet you have most - if not all - of them in your kitchen already!

Anyway, here's everything you'll need to make these Texas Roadhouse rolls:

    • 1 package yeast
    • ¼ cup warm water
    • ¼ cup sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tbsp. melted butter
    • 4 cups flour
    • 1 tsp. Salt

    Super basic stuff, right?!

By the way, you can use salted butter - or unsalted butter - that's up to you. That said, if you use salted butter, then I would cut the salt in this recipe by half.

As for the flour, all-purpose flour or bread flour will both work, but bread flour will result in a chewier and fluffier bread roll.

Oh, and as I mentioned earlier, these yeast rolls are incredible with the cinnamon butter that Texas Roadhouse serves, so you'll definitely want to make my copycat honey cinnamon butter recipe to serve alongside your Texas Roadhouse rolls.

An assortment of ingredients including bowls of flour, butter, sugar, yeast, honey, powdered sugar, an egg and a container of milk.

How To Make Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Again, even if you don't bake that often, these copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls are so, so easy to make!

Activating the yeast will take about 10 minutes, then you just have to form the dough, let it rise, and bake it to perfection. All in all, the recipe will take about an hour to make, but most of that time is just waiting for the dough to rise.

Honestly, the most challenging part of the entire process is waiting for the dough to bake!

Anyway, let's stop wasting time and get cooking.

A white mixing bowl filled with yeast, water, and sugar, surrounded by an assortment of ingredients.

    Step 1: Activate The Yeast

First, you'll start by activating the dry yeast. To do this, mix the yeast with warm water and sugar in a bowl until it combines. Then, let the yeast mixture sit for about 10 minutes or until it's foamy.

    Step 2: Make The Dough

Once your yeast mixture is ready, you can add the milk, egg, and melted butter to the bowl. Then, give everything a mix to combine with the instant yeast, and add the flour and salt to the bowl.

Now mix everything together until doughy consistency forms - as the dough gets thicker, you'll eventually want to switch to using your hands to continue mixing.

    Step 3: Knead The Dough

So, now that the dough is formed, you can transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes. This will help form the gluten, which will make for perfectly-textured rolls.

Finally, transfer your worked dough to a greased bowl and top it with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it proof until it doubles in size. This will take around 45 minutes, so make sure to check frequently around then.

    Step 4: Form The Dough

Once the dough has almost doubled in size, you'll want to preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Alternatively, you can also use a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. I like to use baking sheets if I'm making a double-batch since I usually don't have enough baking dishes.

Anyway, when the dough has doubled in size, you can transfer it back to the working surface and form it into a log shape, then divide it into 8 pieces. Next, roll the pieces into balls and arrange the unbaked rolls on the greased baking dish or your prepared baking sheets.

    Step 5: Bake The Rolls

Now, once you have formed your rolls, you can bake them in the oven for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown and fully cooked.

Also, while they're baking, you can make that cinnamon honey butter I mentioned earlier to go along with 'em.

Finally, once they're cooked, you can serve the baked Texas Roadhouse rolls with the cinnamon butter, and enjoy 'em!

How To Store Texas Roadhouse Rolls

As you know, this recipe for Texas Roadhouse rolls will make about 8 rolls , so they're a great side to make for a big family dinner.

With that said, every time I make this delicious Texas Roadhouse rolls recipe - even if it's just for our family off 3 - I hardly ever end up with leftovers. Seriously, everyone always comes back for seconds, thirds, and sometimes fourths of 'em.

But, with that said, if you happen to have some leftovers, these Texas Roadhouse rolls store pretty well. You can transfer leftover rolls to an airtight container, and they'll stay fresh at room temperature for up to 5 days.

However, if you want to store them for even longer, you can store the yeast rolls in an airtight container - or freezer-safe bag - in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How To Reheat Texas Roadhouse Rolls

When you're ready to enjoy your leftover Texas Roadhouse rolls again, you'll likely want to enjoy them warm. I mean, the rolls are ok cold, but they're divine warm/hot. So I def recommend reheating them.

Anyway, to warm up your dinner rolls, I recommend wrapping them in foil and placing them on a baking sheet and baking them at 350°F for about 5-10 minutes or until they are fully warmed through.

Alternatively, if you just want to reheat one roll, you can just microwave it for about 10 seconds or until it's nice and hot.

    Wrapping It Up

Well, that's how to make Texas Roadhouse rolls at home that taste just as good as the real deal!

And, while I know I'm biased, not only do I think these are the best copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls you'll ever make, but I also think this is one of the best bread recipes out there too. Well, at least that's what my friends and family who have tried these rolls have said.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these rolls as much as my family and I do.

Of course, if you give the recipe a try, be sure to leave a comment and let us know how it went.
