    The Best Ranch Chicken

If you love ranch dressing, just wait until you try this baked ranch chicken recipe. Honestly, this might be my favorite chicken recipe ever, and that's really saying something because I've made a ton of chicken recipes. It's seriously that good.

The chicken breasts are coated in a creamy ranch breading and then baked to perfection. The results are perfectly cooked juicy and tender chicken breasts every single time.

And, best of all, you barely have to do anything to make it! Just coat the chicken in the breading and then let the oven take care of the rest!

By the way, since this recipe comes together so quickly, you'll have plenty of time to whip up a few equally delicious side dishes to go with it. I personally love serving this baked ranch chicken alongside these cheesy mashed potatoes and honey glazed candied carrots.

    Ingredients

As I mentioned earlier, the ingredient list for this ranch chicken is so simple. All you need are just 5 ingredients to make it and they're basically all kitchen/pantry staples. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you already have most - if not all - of them at your house already!

Anyway, here's what you'll need to make this ranch chicken recipe:

    • 2 skinless and boneless chicken breasts
    • 0.5 oz. ranch seasoning mix
    • ¼ cup mayonnaise
    • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
    • ¼ cup parmesan cheese

    Pretty simple stuff, right?

By the way, if you have some leftover ranch dressing mix, you can use it to make this crack chicken casserole or this chicken hashbrown casserole! They're two super delicious and super easy chicken recipes that are ranch flavor.

An assortment of ingredients including a plate of two raw chicken breasts and bowls of shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, and seasoning.

    Ingredient Substitutions And Suggestions

Now, I always make this creamy ranch chicken with the ingredients listed above, but there is a ton of wiggle room for you to put your own spin on it.

    Use Dark Meat Chicken

Now, I almost always use boneless skinless chicken breasts for this recipe since I always tend to have some on hand. But with that said, you can use boneless chicken thighs instead. The ranch chicken will turn out just as delicious if you do.

Switch The Mayonnaise For Sour Cream Or Ranch Dressing

This recipe calls for the chicken breasts to be coated in mayonnaise before getting dipped in your ranch seasoning. That said, you can swap the mayonnaise for sour cream, or if you're obsessed with ranch flavor like me, then you can coat your chicken in ranch dressing. I've done it both ways, and the recipe turned out delicious each time.

By the way, if you're in need of some homemade ranch dressing you can make this Wingstop ranch recipe.

    Experiment With Add Ons

This recipe is kept pretty simple since the ranch seasoning is really what shines. But, if you want to add additional flavor to your baked chicken, then I recommend adding a little garlic powder to your breadcrumb mixture.

Or, in addition to the parmesan cheese, you can also add a little cheddar cheese - or mozzarella cheese - for an extra cheesy flavor.

A white plate filled with bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, and spices. These ingredients have not been mixed together.

    How To Make Ranch Chicken

Again, making this baked ranch chicken could not be simpler!

You basically just coat your chicken breasts in mayonnaise, then press them into your breadcrumb mixture, and cook 'em in the oven until they're baked to golden brown perfection. And, as I said before, this entire prep work process will take just 5 minutes of your time. Then, after you've got your chicken prepped the oven does all of the magic after that.

Anyway, let's stop wasting time and get cooking!

Two raw chicken breasts coated in mayonnaise on a wooden board. The bowl of mayonnaise is next to the chicken with a spoon in the bowl.

    Step 1: Prep Work

First, preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Now, grab a wide plate - wide enough to fit your chicken breasts - and combine the ranch dressing mix, breadcrumbs, and parmesan cheese on it.

    Step 2: Coat The Chicken

Now that the breading stations are prepared, it's time to give this chicken all of its delicious flavors.

So, to do that, you'll want to coat each chicken breast in mayonnaise - or ranch dressing if you're using it. You can either brush the chicken with a food brush or spread the mayo on the chicken with a spoon.

Then, you'll want to coat each side of the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture until it's fully covered. Once you've got each chicken breast covered in the breadcrumb mixture you can transfer them to the prepared baking dish.

    Step 3: Bake The Chicken

Now that you've coated both chicken breasts with your ranch seasoning mix, you can bake the chicken for about 40 minutes - or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken breast reaches 165°F.

Finally, once your baked ranch chicken is fully cooked, allow it to cool briefly before serving it alongside fresh rice, roasted veggies, or whatever side dishes you're in the mood for. Enjoy!

    How To Store Ranch Chicken

This recipe for ranch chicken makes 2 servings, so it's the perfect dinner for two, a big dinner for yourself, or even as meal prep for the next day.

With that said though, if you want to make this baked ranch chicken for a big family dinner, you can easily double - or triple - the number of ingredients that you use.

Then, if you end up with leftovers, you can transfer any of your extras to an airtight container and keep them in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Alternatively, if you want to store your chicken for even longer, you can freeze it for up to 4 months in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag.

    How To Reheat Ranch Chicken

When you're ready to enjoy your baked ranch chicken again you can either eat it cold, or you can reheat it.

With that said, to reheat your ranch chicken, I recommend transferring the leftovers to a baking dish - or a wire rack set on top of a baking sheet - and reheating them in an oven for about 10 minutes 400°F for about 10 minutes - or until it's hot.

Alternatively, if you're reheating just a small serving of leftovers, the microwave will work great. Just heat 'em in 30-second increments until hot.
