Now, making air fryer French toast isn't the most common method, but I think it is by far the best one.

This air fryer French toast makes a classic French toast that cooks each slice so evenly and consistently every time.

It requires way less work, and I love that you don't have to stand by the stovetop frying the bread slices, trying to time the right moment to flip them. Instead, the air fryer will do the job for you and it takes all the guesswork, and active cooking time out of making it.

All you'll have to do is soak the French toast in the egg mixture, and then the air fryer will cook them up in just 7 minutes!

So whenever you want a delicious family breakfast on a lazy morning, making air fryer French toast is just what you need.

And while the toasts air fry to perfection, you can make this Sweet Cream Cold Foam in 1 minute to go on your morning coffee. Talk about the ultimate breakfast to start your day with.

White plate with a slice of French toast that is cut in half on top. There are some raspberries on the plate and a slice of strawberry on each piece of French toast with a fork on the edge of the one slice.

    Ingredients

So, this air fryer French toast uses ingredients that I can almost guarantee you have in your kitchen.

    Here's everything you need.

    • 4 two Day Old Bread Slices
    • 2 tbsp. Sugar
    • 1 tbsp. Vanilla Extract
    • 1 tbsp. Cinnamon Powder
    • 1 cup Milk
    • 3 Eggs

And to top off the French toast:

    • 2 tbsp. Sugar
    • 2 tbsp. Cinnamon

Now, I love adding some cinnamon and sugar to each slice of warm air fryer French toast. It really completes the flavor and is so good that you don't even need syrup!

By the way, I put the same topping on these Churro Pancakes - another out-of-this-world breakfast that you have to try making next! Or, you can make them with this French toast for a gourmet breakfast.

Part of a basket with four slices of bread in it, a white bowl with a fork in it, a small white dish with cinnamon, a tin cup of sugar, a small white bowl of vanilla extract, and a pitcher of milk.

How to Make French Toast in Air Fryer

Say goodbye to soggy - or overcooked - French toast on the stove. This air fryer French toast comes out golden and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Gah, it's good.

By the way, if you have kids, call them to the kitchen so they can help you prepare the slices of bread. It makes for a fun family activity and bonding time!

Now, gather the ingredients, and let's start the day off with this easy French toast recipe!

    Step 1: Preparing Bread Slices

First, prepare the batter to coat the bread.

Put the milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and eggs in a medium-sized bowl and whisk them with a fork until well combined.

Next, soak each slice of bread in the mixture until each side is coated well. And make sure every inch is dredged in the mixture, but don't leave the bread sitting in it.

Heard of a basket or three slices of white bread stacked on top each other, a white bowl with French toast mixture and a slice of bread in it, an empty picture, and empty white plate, and an empty bowl on the white counter.

Step 2: Cooking The French Toast

So, now that the slices of bread are ready to go, let's air fry the French toast to golden brown perfection.

First, grease the air fryer basket with a little cooking spray. Then place as many slices of bread in it that you can without them touching each other.

Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may have to cook the French toast in two batches.

Next, cook the bread at 350°F (175°C) for about 7 minutes, flipping the pieces of bread halfway through cooking.

While the French toast is cooking, mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.

Part of the basket with three slices of bread stacked on top of each other, a piece of French toast in an air fryer, white picture, a plate with some cinnamon on it, and a white bowl on a white counter.

    Step 3: Serving

When each slice is done, take it out of the air fryer and immediately sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top of the warm piece of French toast.

And it is important to do this while they're still hot so the cinnamon sugar can melt into the bread for the best flavor.

Then, top off each slice with a slab of butter, whipped cream, and some maple syrup, and dig in!

Oh my counter with a white plate with a slice of French toast on top with a few sliced strawberries on it. Next to the plate is a small bowl of Honey I'm behind it is a small plate with cinnamon on it and a pitcher of milk.

    HOW TO STORE FRENCH TOAST

So, this recipe will make 4 slices of air fried French toast, but if you want more for a big family breakfast, just double, triple, or quadruple the recipe!

Then if you have any leftovers, you can store them for breakfast throughout the week. Refrigerated or frozen, they make a great quick breakfast for busy mornings!

To refrigerate, put the cooled slices in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag, and they'll last for up to 5 days.

If you want to freeze them, put the slices on a baking sheet and flash freeze for about an hour. Then transfer to a freezer-safe bag, and they'll last for up to 2 months!

FAQS ABOUT THIS AIR FRYER FRENCH TOAST RECIPE

Can you reheat French toast in air fryer?

Yes, you can, and I prefer this method. It crisps the slices right back up, and they are super quick to reheat air fried style.

All you have to do is preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and air fry for about 2-3 minutes or until warm.

What Bread Is Best for French Toast?

You can really use any type of bread you want to make this recipe! My favorites are white bread and cinnamon swirl bread, but you can also use brioche, sourdough, wheat, and even French bread to make French toast with.

Why Use Stale Bread for French Toast?

While you can make French toast with fresh bread, there is a reason why stale bread makes a better choice.

Stale bread absorbs more of the egg and milk mixture, which results in toasts with a more delicate texture. But if you only have fresh bread, it will still turn out delicious!

    Wrapping It All Up

This French toast is such an easy air fryer breakfast, and now you know how to make it in about 20 minutes!

And you never have to worry about under or overcooking French toast again! The air fryer cooks the bread to golden perfection while keeping the inside soft and tender.

My family just loves this air fryer French toast, and I have a feeling your family will too.
