By the way, if you like healthy no bake desserts, you have to give this low carb fudge a try next.
Ingredients
So, you'll only need 4 ingredients to make the protein brownies then 2 more to complete them. And if you have some chocolate protein powder, there's a good chance that you have everything else you need on hand.
Check out the ingredients for these protein brownies:
- ¾ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup chocolate protein powder
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoon maple syrup (can use sugar free maple syrup)
And for the finishing touch:
- ½ cup chocolate chips (can use sugar free chocolate chips)
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
You can use any chocolate-flavored protein powder that you want, and this protein dessert will turn out incredible.
Now, to keep these healthy brownies low in sugar, I suggest using natural peanut butter with no sugar added, sugar free maple syrup, and sugar free chocolate chips.
Oh, and you can use some of these ingredients to make this brownie baked oatmeal and this sugar free peanut butter pie, so you might want to check that recipe out next!
How to Make Protein Brownies
One of the best parts about this recipe compared to other healthy brownie recipes is that it's beyond easy to make. And as I've mentioned a couple of times, they're no bake brownies. So all you have to do is a little mixing - that's it!
Now let's not waste any more time and get into the recipe.
Step 1: Making The Brownies
Before we begin, line a small loaf pan or casserole dish with parchment paper and set it aside while you make the brownies.
So, as I mentioned, making healthy protein brownies is super easy. First, add the peanut butter, protein powder, cocoa powder, and maple syrup to a large bowl.
Then mix everything together until all of the ingredients combine, and you have a kind of crumbly and sticky consistency. Once you do, form it into a ball with your hands and then press it into the prepared loaf pan.
Step 2: Make the Topping
For the topping, put the chocolate chips and coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for about 1 minute. Then take it out and give it a stir, and microwave for another minute until the chocolate has completely melted.
Next, stir to make sure it's smooth, and then pour the melted chocolate on top of the brownies. And if you want, you can top it off with more chocolate chips.
Step 3: Chilling the Brownies
Now all that's left to do is let it chill and set, no baking in this brownie recipe!
So put the protein brownies in the fridge for an hour or so until the chocolate has completely hardened.
Once they're ready, flip upside down, cut into 9 squares, and enjoy!
How To Store No Bake Brownies
These protein brownies will be hard to keep around for long, but while you have some left, you'll want to keep them in the fridge in an airtight container or resealable bag.
They'll last stored this way for about 5-7 days! And as soon as you run out, you can whip up another batch in just a couple of minutes. At least that's what I've been doing.
Wrapping It Up
That is how to make healthy brownies that are high protein, gluten free, grain free, egg free, and low in sugar!
These protein brownies are rich, kind of fudgy, and have such a satisfying texture. They're easily one of the best protein desserts you can make and are a great way to add more protein to your diet.
So next time you have a craving for brownies or something rich and chocolatey and want to keep it healthy, you know what to make!
I hope you like these protein brownies as much as I do. If you make them, leave a comment below and let me know what you think! And for more recipes, check out our Youtube channel.
