But, the best part about this Bahama Mama recipe is that you can make it with just a few simple ingredients - and in just 1 minute!

    The Best Bahama Mama Tropical Smoothie

    Whether you're chilling on the beach in the Bahamas or sitting in the backyard on a hot summer day, this Bahama Mama Smoothie recipe will make you feel relaxed and refreshed. It's healthy, fresh, and pretty much a tropical vacation for your tastebuds.

    Now, since the Bahama Mama tropical smoothie has been around for a long time, there are different recipes out there. Currently, the most popular version is the Bahama Mama tropical smoothie from the Tropical Smoothie Café.

    But this Bahama Mama tropical smoothie recipe I'm about to share with you is one of the healthier variations, and it's super easy to make. Also - dare I say it - it's better than the one you can get at Tropical Smoothie Café.

    Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, I have a feeling that after you taste it you'll know exactly why I'm hyping it up. 

    Honestly, this Bahama Mama tropical smoothie recipe has become my go-to fruit smoothie when I'm in the need of something light, refreshing, and filling.

    Ingredients

    Like I mentioned earlier, you can make this Bahama Mama tropical smoothie with only a few simple ingredients - six to be exact.

    Here are all the ingredients you need to make this healthy smoothie:

    • 5 oz. Strawberries (fresh or frozen)
    • 2 oz. Shredded Coconut
    • 3 oz. Pineapple (fresh or frozen)
    • ½ Banana (optional)
    • ¼ cup White Chocolate Chips
    • ½ cup Milk
    • 1 cup Ice

    The most wonderful thing about this ingredient list is that you can easily find all of them at your local grocery store and they'll last you a long time if you store them properly. And that means you can make a ton of Bahama Mama tropical smoothie deliciousness after you buy them once.

    Now, as you may have noticed, you can use fresh fruit or frozen fruit for this delicious smoothie. If you use frozen fruit, it will make your smoothie have a thicker texture. And if you use fresh fruit, it will be a little thinner like juice. So, what you choose is totally up to how you like your smoothies!

    With that said, if you use fresh fruit, you can always use the leftover pineapples and strawberries to make our million dollar pie or strawberry compote.

    Also, you can make several variations of this Bahama Mama tropical smoothie with just a couple of extra ingredients.

    Two of the ingredients I like to add are a banana and some protein powder. Adding a banana and vanilla protein powder - I think vanilla protein powder gives it a great flavor.

    And these ingredients also give the smoothie a nice thick and smooth texture with an added boost of protein! This makes it a great post-workout smoothie or quick breakfast to keep you fuller for longer.

    How to make Bahama Mama Smoothie

    As mentioned before, this Bahama Mama tropical smoothie recipe is super simple and takes minutes to make! This recipe is also very easy to double or triple if you want to share this delicious dose of summer.

    Basically, all you need to do is combine the ingredients and blend them. That’s it! Pretty easy right?

    By the way, this recipe makes 1 large serving or 2 small servings, so it's enough to split this healthy Smoothie with someone!

    Now get out the ingredients, and let's get rolling!

    STEP 1: Prepping your Ingredients

    So, as I talked about in the ingredients section, you can use fresh or frozen fruit to make this smoothie. And if you're using fresh fruit, you'll want to wash it and chop the pineapple and strawberries so it's easier to blend.

    Oh, and if you're adding a banana to the smoothie, you'll want to slice that up too.

    STEP 2: Making The Bahama Mama Smoothie

    Now that everything is ready to go, start by adding the milk to a regular-sized blender or single-serve Nutri Bullet-style blender.

    Then, add the strawberries, pineapple, and white chocolate chips to the blender. And if you're using vanilla protein powder, you can add that to the blender now too.

    Now, once everything is in, blend all of the ingredients at high speed until they are combined and a super-smooth texture forms.

    After the first round of blending, put in the ice and blend again to chill the drink. The ice is the secret ingredient to getting an extra thick and refreshing smoothie.

    Step 3: Serving the Smoothie

    Now it's time to enjoy this delicious cup of vacation!

    Pour the smoothie into your favorite glass and add a sprinkle of shredded coconut on top. I also like to add on a few extra white chocolate chips and eat the top of the smoothie with a spoon!

    How to Store This Bahama Mama Smoothie

    So, as I mentioned, this Bahama mama tropical smoothie recipe will make 1 large serving or 2 smaller servings. And odds are you'll finish the whole thing off in one sitting, but if you don't, it actually stores really well.

    You can store the smoothie in an airtight container or resealable jar in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just take it out and have a chug whenever you need a quick vacation.

    By the way, if you plan on storing it in the fridge immediately after making it wait to add the ice - this will keep the flavor from getting watered down.

    Then, whenever you want to enjoy it, you can toss it back in the blender with some ice.

    With that said, if you want to keep this smoothie for longer - or make a bag batch to always have on hand - the best way to store it is in the freezer. The 2 best ways to store it are either in ice cube trays or an airtight container. Stored in one of those ways it will last for up to 3 months.

    Then, whenever you want to drink it, either thaw it in the fridge to soften up or toss it right in the blender with some milk!
