My Take On Kielbasa Pasta
This kielbasa pasta recipe takes a handful of simple ingredients and transforms them into a flavorful and delicious meal I can't get enough of.
I start this recipe off by browning the kielbasa sausage until it's caramelized and crispy outside, yet juicy on the inside. Then in the same pot, I cook the pasta until it's perfectly tender. Heavy cream, tomato paste, and a few spices are added to make a savory cream sauce that soaks into every bit of the pasta noodles.
That combination alone is incredible, and the parmesan on top makes it straight-up addictive! Plus, making this cheesy kielbasa pasta recipe is a breeze.
That's why I love making this recipe when I'm hosting a big hungry crowd since it's so hearty and satisfying. Everyone who tries this recipe loves it, and I just know you will too!
The creamy kielbasa pasta is pretty filling on its own, but when I want to make a complete meal, I'll serve the pasta with a house salad and garlic bread to soak up every last bit of sauce.
Why You'll Love This Recipe
One pot pasta dish. I really love that everything to make this recipe comes together in one pot. So the process of making it, and cleaning up is a breeze.
It's easy to make. All you have to do is brown the sausage, cook the pasta, then add in the sauce ingredients and give it a stir. It's effortless to make, and my favorite part is that it's basically all hands-off cooking.
The sauce. If there's one standout in this recipe, I think it's the creamy tomato-based sauce. It's so rich and savory, and it gets better with every bite. I could literally eat it with a spoon!
An instant family favorite. This kielbasa pasta recipe has quickly become one of my family's favorite pasta recipes. You'll be surprised by how much everyone loves it, even your pickiest eaters!

How To Make Kielbasa Pasta
1. Cook the kielbasa. Using a large pot, heat a little olive oil, then add the sliced kielbasa. Cook, flipping the sausage, until it's browned on all sides. Then take it out of the pot and set it aside.
2. Cook the pasta. Add the rotini pasta to the pot and pour enough water to cover the pasta. Bring this to a boil, then reduce the heat and continue cooking until the pasta is al dente.
3. Make the creamy tomato sauce. Once the pasta is cooked, drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water. Transfer the cooked pasta to a bowl. In the pot, heat the remaining oil, then add tomato paste and stir. Pour the heavy cream, thyme, and parsley. Stir to combine, then season to taste with salt and black pepper.
4. Assemble and serve. Return the kielbasa sausage and cooked pasta to the pot of creamy sauce and stir well to combine everything together. Then serve the Polish sausage pasta warm and garnish with parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
My Tips For Making The Best Recipe
- Sometimes I'll add veggies, like diced tomatoes, minced garlic, bell pepper, or yellow onion, for a healthier pasta dish.
- My wife likes to add a teaspoon of red chili flakes to the finished dish for a spicy kick.
- Stir a few tablespoons of cream cheese into the sauce for a richer, creamier sauce.
- You can use different types of pasta, like bowtie pasta, rigatoni, conchigliette, or whatever pasta you have on hand to switch up the texture.
How I Recommend Storing Kielbasa Pasta
In the fridge: Store the leftover kielbasa pasta in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
In the freezer: Allow leftovers to cool completely, then transfer them to a freezer-safe container or freezer-safe bag and freeze for up to 4 months.
Reheating: I like to add the leftover pasta to a saucepan with a splash of chicken broth, milk, or heavy cream. Heat it over low heat, stirring gently, until warmed through. You can also heat your pasta in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each. Allow the frozen pasta to thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
