This air fryer quesadilla has a flavor experience like no other. The cheese is so ooey-gooey inside, and the shell is so crispy you'll be craving these for weeks to come. Seriously, once you make quesadillas air fryer style, you'll never make them another way again.

    The Best Air Fryer Quesadilla

I love using the air fryer lately, and I love quesadillas, so I had to make a quesadilla air fryer recipe!

It takes traditional quesadillas and gives them a twist, using slices of cheese and corn tortilla shells to make taco-shaped, sandwich-like quesadillas.

And making them this way is crazy delicious.

The tortillas shells crisp up to golden perfection in the air fryer, and they have a delightful crunch that goes so well with the melty cheesy interior.

Also, another reason to love this air fryer quesadilla is it's super quick and easy to make! So you can make them without a quesadilla maker, and they cook way more evenly than on the stovetop.

Plus, using the air fryer is so hands-off, so you can make this Doritos Casserole to go with the quesadillas while they're cooking!

A few quesadillas on top of one another on a white plate. On top of the quesadillas and some avocado, cilantro, pickled onions, and jalapeños.

    Ingredients

These air fryer quesadillas are made with fresh ingredients, and you can really customize them however you want!

Here's what you'll need for the quesadillas:

    • 6 Corn Tortillas
    • 6-12 Sharp Cheddar Cheese Slices
    • 2 Tomatoes, sliced (optional)

    And for serving (optional):

    • Pickled Jalapeños
    • Pickled Red Onions
    • Avocado
    • Cilantro

I like using cheddar cheese slices for a fun change-up, but if you want to make them the traditional way, you can use any shredded cheese you want!

With that said, the shells and cheese are the only essential things for this air fryer quesadilla recipe. Everything else is totally up to your tastebuds, and I have a few more suggestions on ways to change these up.

What To Add To Air  Fryer Quesadilla

So quesadillas are like a blank canvas - you can fill them with literally anything!

And, while this recipe makes vegetarian quesadillas, you can always add meat if you want to

    Here are some excellent options:

    • Blackened Shrimp
    • Blackened Chicken
    • Fajita Chicken
    • Pulled pork
    • Steak
    • Ground Beef or Turkey

And to fill the quesadillas, some common options are:

    • Spanish Rice
    • Corn
    • Black Beans
    • Peppers
    • Onions

Whatever you put in these air fryer quesadillas, they're going to be delicious!

How to Make Quesadilla In Air Fryer

Ok, so these air fryer quesadillas are so simple to make you could do it with your eyes closed.

Seriously, using the air fryer to make this traditionally pan-fried dish takes all the guesswork out of making them, and they turn out perfect each time!

So, grab your ingredients, and let's get cooking!

    Step 1: Preparing The Quesadillas

As always, start by preheating the air fryer. And for this recipe, you'll want to set it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175°C).

Now, while it's preheating, you can fill the quesadillas with anything that you want!

If you're following this recipe as is, fill one side of each corn tortilla with three tomato slices and a few slices of cheddar cheese. And make sure everything is placed evenly on the tortilla for consistent bites.

Then fold the tortilla shell to make a taco-shaped quesadilla and spray both sides with a little cooking spray.

    Step 2: Cooking the Quesadillas

Now it's cooking time! Lay about 1-2 quesadillas flat in the air fryer basket - depending on how big your air fryer is - and cook for about 7 minutes, carefully flipping halfway through.

Then, when all of your quesadillas are cooked to golden perfection, take them out and top with pickled red onion, jalapeños, cilantro, and avocado to give them a whole lot of flavor. Enjoy!

    How to Store Quesadillas

So, this recipe makes 6 taco-shaped quesadillas, but you can make more or less depending on how many you want!

They make a really great family dinner since you can whip a few more up if everyone's still hungry!

Then, if you have any leftovers, just transfer them to an airtight container and store them in the fridge for 1-3 days.

And if you want to reheat the quesadillas, so the shells crisp back up, either put them back in the air fryer or the oven at 325°F (160°C) until they reach your desired temperature.

    Wrapping It All Up

Well, that is how to make an air fryer quesadilla!

These quesadillas are the ideal customizable meal that everyone is sure to love. They're so quick and easy to make and you can change them up every time. Or you can follow this recipe as is - your tastebuds will thank you.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this quesadilla air fryer recipe as much as I do!
