Why You'll Love This Crock Pot Pork Chops Recipe
It's convenient to make. I've been making these crock pot cream of mushroom pork chops a ton lately when I know I have a busy day. I love that I'm able to throw everything together in the crock pot and forget about it until dinner time.
It pairs well with so many side dishes. I usually serve them with these cream cheese mashed potatoes for a comfort food meal, but they're delicious with veggies, rice, side salad, or your favorite pasta dish.
Virtually no prep time is needed. It's so easy to throw together on a weekday morning and have it ready by the time you're home from work. No cutting, dicing, or slicing is needed here!
Winning combination. The flavors from the cream of mushroom soup and savory onion soup mix make one heck of a flavor that pairs so well with pork chops.
Ingredients
- Pork chops- boneless pork chops sliced about 1 inch thick are my preferred cut.
- Mushroom soup- canned condensed mushroom soup.
- Chicken stock- your favorite chicken stock will work well here.
- Onion Mushroom Soup Mix- I used the Lipton powdered mix, but whatever brand you like is great!
How To Make Crock Pot Pork Chops with Cream of Mushroom Soup
Step 1: Add the pork. Grease your crock pot with nonstick cooking spray and add the boneless pork chops to the pot. Make sure the chops are in a single layer so they cook evenly.
Step 2: Make the sauce. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, chicken stock, and onion mushroom soup powder. Mix the ingredients until they are well combined.
Step 3: Add the sauce and cook. Once your sauce mix is combined, pour the mixture over the pork chops in the crock pot. Then cover the crock pot and cook the chops on low heat for 6-8 hours.
Step 4: Serve and enjoy! Check on the pork chops after about 6 hours, and you'll know they are finished cooking when they reach an internal temperature of 145°F. Serve them warm with a side of mashed potatoes or pasta. Enjoy!
Pro Tips To Make The Best Crock Pot Pork Chops
- Pork is best cooked low and slow, so you'll want to let it cook on low heat for 6-8 hours. I don't recommend cooking them on high heat.
- If you're using thin pork chops, you may need to adjust your cooking time. Begin checking the temperature around the 4-hour mark.
- For extra flavor, you can sear the pork chops in a cast iron skillet until they have a crispy crust before putting them in the crock pot.
Storing and Reheating These Cream of Mushroom Pork Chops
For what it's worth, the pork chops taste delicious leftover, so it's worth making this recipe even if you don't think you'll finish all of them. Anyway, you can keep any leftover pork chops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To keep for longer, you can also freeze these pork chops. Allow the pork chops to cool before transferring them to a freezer-safe, airtight container. They will keep in the fridge for up to 3 months.
When you're ready to eat the leftovers, you'll want to reheat them for the best results. Just add the chops to a baking dish with a little broth or the gravy and warm in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes. You'll want to add some more time for the frozen pork chops.
