Ingredients

Scale

2 cups All Purpose Flour

1 tsp. Baking Powder

2 tsp. Caster Sugar

6g Instant Active Dry Yeast

1 tsp. Salt

Just over 3/4 cups (300g) Warm Water

1 tbsp. Olive Oil

3 tbsp. Black and White Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, caster sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a big bowl and make a hole in the middle.
  2. Pour the water and mix until well incorporated. Cover the bowl and let it sit for 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the dough in an irregular oval shape (around ¾ inch thick).
  4. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it proof for 1 more hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180°C).
  6. Using your fingers, make a shape of an inner oval around 1 ½ inches from the border, and then make diagonal marks using a long knife.
  7. Top with olive oil and black and white sesame seeds.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
