Instant Pot Sausage and Peppers In Under 25 Minutes

This Instant Pot sausage and peppers is a quick, flavorful, and hearty meal that is so simple to make. And the sausage and peppers can be ready and on the table in just 25 minutes! So if you're looking for an easy family dinner, this recipe has you covered. 



3 Pairs of Italian Sausages (total of 6 pieces)

3 Peppers (1 Red, 1 Yellow, 1 Green)

1 Medium Purple Onion

3 Tbsp Olive Oil

Salt and Pepper

Optional side:

1 Cup (200g) of Rice 

 1 3/4 Cup (400ml) of Vegetable Broth


  1. Set the Instant Pot to the saute function for 10 minutes. 
  2. Pour olive oil into the instant pot and add the sausages. Cook until the sausages brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). 
  3. While the sausages are cooking, cut the peppers and onions into strips.
  4. When the sausage is done, take it out and put it on a plate.
  5. Set the instant pot to saute again for 10 minutes and add in the peppers and onions. Cook until browned, softened, and translucent. 
  6. Prepare rice as desired in the Instant Pot with the Rice option or cook in a pot. If cooking in an instant pot, add rice and vegetable broth and cook on the rice option. If cooking in a pot, follow rice package instructions.
  7. When the rice is cooked, put it on a plate and top with the peppers, onions, and sausage. Enjoy!
