Amish Hamburger Casserole

This Amish hamburger casserole is meaty, cheesy, and so delicious. It's filled with a unique combination of ingredients to make a comforting casserole dish the entire family is sure to love. Not only that, but it's also really easy to make too!

Ingredients

8oz. egg noodles

½ cup Greek yogurt 

8oz. cream cheese

1 cup cottage cheese

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 1/2lb. ground beef

15oz. tomato sauce

1 tsp. oregano

1 tsp. thyme

Salt and pepper

1 tsp. paprika

1 cup mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 baking casserole, and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, cook the noodles according to the package direction. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together cottage cheese, cream cheese, and Greek yogurt. Set aside.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, and cook until the meat is no longer pink. 
  5. Sprinkle with the oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper, and stir. 
  6. Add tomato sauce, and simmer for 5-8 minutes.
  7. Place ½ of the cooked noodles in the bottom of the casserole. Top with ½ of the cream cheese mixture and ½ of the meat mixture. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Top with the mix of shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Allow standing for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with the chopped basil and serve.
