KOOL AID PINEAPPLE SPEARS

This viral Kool-Aid pineapple jar trend has taken social media by storm, and for good reason. They're made quickly with just three-ingredients, and are shockingly delicious!

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS RECIPE

This recipe uses only three ingredients you can find at any grocery store. Plus, they're kid-friendly so they're perfect for parties and cookouts.

INGREDIENTS

All you need for this recipe is: Pineapple spears in light syrup, Granulated sugar, and Fruit Punch Kool-aid mix

Carefully strain the pineapple jar into a large pitcher. Do not discard the juice! Leave the pineapple spears sitting in the jar.

STEP 1: DRAIN THE PINEAPPLE JUICE INTO A PITCHER

STEP 2: MIX THE KOOL-AID SYRUP

Add 1 cup of granulated sugar and one packet of Fruit Punch Kool-Aid to the pineapple juice. Stir  until the sugar is fully dissolved and the liquid turns a deep red.

STEP 3: RETURN THE LIQUID TO THE JAR

Slowly pour the Kool-Aid syrup back into the pineapple jar over the spears. Make sure every spear is fully submerged and covered with the liquid.

STEP 4: REFRIGERATE

Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate. 30 minutes is the minimum, you'll get a light coating of flavor. The longer they soak, the more the Kool-Aid flavor soaks into the fruit.

STEP 5: SERVE WITH KOOL-AID DIPPING POWDER

Remove the spears from the jar. Pour the second Kool-Aid packet into a small dish for dipping. Serve immediately while cold.

VARIATIONS

Kool-Aid comes in dozes of flavor. Some combinations worth trying include Lemonade, Watermelon, or Tropical Punch.

STORAGE TIPS

Store in the sealed jar for 3 to 5 days. The flavor actually deepens over time, so they get better as they sit. Freezing is not recommended as it makes the pineapple mushy.
