Cut Out Sugar Cookie Recipe No Chill Needed

The best part about the holidays has got to be the festive and delicious desserts. And with this no chill sugar cookie recipe, the holiday season just got that much better! These sugar cookies are super tender, yet have the perfect crunch on the outside. Plus, they're just so delicious - they're filled with a buttery, sugary flavor that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale

2 sticks Cold Butter, cubed

1 cup Sugar

1 Egg

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

1 tsp. Baking Powder

½ tsp. Salt

3 cups All-Purpose Flour

Icing:

1 cup Powdered Sugar

½ tbsp. Water

1 tbsp. Corn Syrup

Food coloring of your choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180ºC).
  2. With an electric mixer, beat the butter with the sugar in a large bowl until creamy and light in color.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder. 
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the bowl of the butter mixture and mix with a rubber spatula until a dough forms. Don’t overmix.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 balls and roll out each one until it's  ⅓ inches thick.
  7. Cut the rolled dough it into your desired shapes and place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes or until slightly golden on the edges.
  9. For the icing, mix all of the ingredients in a bowl until combined.
  10. Let the cookies cool and then coat them in the icing, Let the icing set and enjoy!
