This brown sugar milk tea recipe is deliciously milky and sweet with the perfect amount of black tea flavor and chewy boba pearls in every sip. And the best is that this brown sugar milk tea is surprisingly easy to make with only 5 ingredients!

Ingredients

Scale

4 black tea bags

3 cups boiling water

½ cup of boba (or tapioca pearls)

½ cup dark brown sugar or muscovado sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup boiling water

1 cup brown sugar or muscovado sugar + ½ cup of water

1 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. Boiling water in a pot. Pour into a large mug or glass, add black tea, and let it infuse for at least 10 minutes.
  2. To make the boba bubbles, boil water in a pot and add the boba. Cook for 5 minutes and drain (or check the instructions of your package, they can have different times).
  3. Combine boiling hot water, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar, and soak the boba in this mixture for 10 minutes.
  4. To make the syrup boil water in another pot. Add brown sugar to the boiling water and reduce the heat. Cook for 5 minutes or until it thicks.
  5. Serve the tea by pouring the brown sugar syrup into a glass or mug, then add the boba, hot tea, and milk.
