This Harry Potter butterbeer starts with chilled cream soda flavored with caramel and butter, then topped with a butterscotch whipped cream that's rich, frothy, and delicious.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS RECIPE
This recipe has that classic sweet, buttery, butterscotch flavor people expect from butterbeer, but it’s also incredibly easy to make with a few simple ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
For this recipe you'll need: Cream soda, Caramel extract, Butter extract, Heavy whipping cream, Butterscotch topping, Powdered sugar
In a large pitcher, combine the chilled cream soda with the caramel extract and butter extract. Stir gently so you don’t flatten the soda too much, then set it aside.
STEP 1: MAKE THE BUTTERBEER BASE
STEP 2: MAKE THE BUTTERSCOTCH CREAM TOPPING
In a large mixing bowl, whip the butterscotch cream ingredients until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in remaining butterscotch topping.
STEP 3: PREPARE THE TOPPING BAG
Transfer the butterscotch cream topping to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. If you don’t have one, a large zip-top bag with the corner cut off works too.
STEP 4: ASSEMBLE THE DRINKS
Fill mugs or glasses with ice, then pour in the butterbeer soda mixture into the glasses and serve immediately.
STEP 5: TOP AND SERVE
Pipe the butterscotch cream topping over each drink, then drizzle a little extra butterscotch topping over the top. Serve right away and enjoy.
STORAGE TIPS
This recipe is best served fresh, but if you want to prep ahead you can mix the cream soda mixture and keep it in the refrigerator.
