If you've ever thought it was too hard to make country fried chicken at home, then this Texas Roadhouse country fried Chicken recipe will convince you otherwise! Just 10 minutes of prep work and 5 steps are all you need to make it and the results are restaurant quality. Juicy chicken breasts get coated in crispy, buttery breadcrumbs and baked to golden brown perfection. Then, to top it all off, they're smothered in rich white country gravy. Gah, this chicken is good!

Breaded chicken:

2 chicken breasts

½ cup butter

1 oz. panko breadcrumbs

1 tsp dried parsley

1 ½ tsp garlic powder

1 ½ tbsp flour

Salt and pepper, to taste

Country gravy:

1 tbsp butter

1 ½ tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp garlic paste

¼ cup chicken stock

1 cup milk

A pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 430°F and prepare the chicken.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a Ziplock bag and flatten them with a mallet or rolling pin. Make sure they are thin and evenly thick. 
  3. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  4. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, and coat it with melted butter.
  5. In a large bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, a good pinch of salt, parsley, garlic powder, and flour.
  6. Coat the chicken breasts with the panko breadcrumbs mix and place them on a wire rack. 
  7. Place the wire rack onto a baking sheet and bake the chicken breasts for 35 minutes. 
  8. In the meantime, make the gravy: melt butter in a saucepan. Add garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
  9. Add flour and cook it for 1 minute. Add chicken stock and stir well to combine. Gradually pour in the milk and stir.
  10. Season the gravy with a pinch of black pepper. Cook the gravy until slightly thickened. 
  11. Serve the chicken warm with gravy on top.
