These sweet potato biscuits are slightly crisp on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside. They have a delightfully addicting sweet flavor and every bite leaves you wanting to take another. Honestly, they're just so much tastier than regular biscuits and they're surprisingly easy to make from scratch too. Just 4 simple steps - and less than 30 minutes - are all it takes to make these homemade sweet potato biscuits. 



¾ cup Mashed Sweet Potatoes

½ cup Milk

2 cups All-Purpose Flour

1 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1 tbsp. Brown Sugar

½ cup Cold Butter

Maple Syrup to serve


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F ( 180ºC).
  2. Mix sweet potatoes and milk in a bowl.
  3. In a food processor, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder, brown sugar, and cold butter. Process until grainy.
  4. Combine the sweet potato mixture with the butter and flour mixture and knead with your hands until you get a homogeneous dough.
  5. Spread the dough out with your hands or with a rolling pin until it's about ¼ inch thick.
  6. Line a baking sheet with paper and place the rolled dough on it. 
  7. Use a cookie cutter to cut the biscuits.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Serve warm with maple syrup or melted butter.
