    The Best Baked Talaba Recipe

If you've been wondering how to cook oysters, this baked talaba recipe is really everything you need to know.

These baked oysters are filled with garlic butter and topped with melty cheese and toasted breadcrumbs. They're a flavorful experience that you just can't get in any other oysters recipe. And, honestly, that's why I think this is by far the best way to cook oysters.

By the way, this baked talaba recipe makes for a beautiful appetizer - or side - with an equally delicious dish like this lasagna fritta or this lobster mac and cheese.

Talk about a luxurious and indulgent meal that will impress your guests or family!

Now, I know baked oysters typically have a connotation of being hard to make, but this baked talaba recipe is super easy!

It only takes 10 minutes to prepare, and they bake in about 10 minutes.

    Ingredients

Alright, so this baked talaba recipe is made with only 5 ingredients. And, honestly, it's pretty crazy that only a couple of basic ingredients can create such an incredible flavor.

With that said, here's everything you'll need for this baked talaba recipe:

    • 6 Oysters, retain half shell
    • 2 Tbsp. butter
    • 1 Garlic clove (minced)
    • 1 Cup shredded mozzarella
    • ¼ Cup Breadcrumbs

    Pretty simple, right?

Now for the added crunch, you can use either regular breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs.

And for the cheese, my favorite kind to use is shredded mozzarella. But you can use any cheese you want and it'll taste great.

Oh, and if you have these ingredients, then you have everything you need to make this garlic bread and air fryer mahi mahi. So give one of those - or both - recipes a try next!

    How to Make Baked Talaba

Baked talaba is one of those killer dishes that will be a hit with anyone you serve it to. And, as I've mentioned, it also happens to be really simple to make.

So, get out the ingredients, and let's get cooking!

A hand pouring boiling water into an oyster shell. The oyster is in a baking dish with six other oysters.

    Step 1: Prep The Oyster

First things first, preheat the oven to 350ºF (175°C).

The, to prepare the oysters, you'll need to clean them thoroughly. The best way to do this is with a brush, but if you don't have one, just make sure you do some heavy scrubbing.

Then you'll need to shuck the oysters, and make sure you wash them thoroughly before shucking.

After the oysters are cleaned and shucked, put them in a baking dish and pour boiling water into each one of them.

Part of a baking dish with oysters in it with garlic butter on top.

Step 2: Make the Garlic Butter

Now this is where all the flavor is going to come from! To make the garlic butter, add the butter to a pan and heat it over medium heat to melt the butter.

Next, add the minced garlic to the pan and saute for a minute or so until the color turns to a golden brown.

    Step 3: Bake The Oysters

Now top each oyster with the garlic butter, and follow that with a generous amount of shredded cheese and breadcrumbs on top to finish them off.

Then put the baking dish in the oven and bake for approximately 10-15 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

Serve hot with whatever you want, and enjoy!

    How to store cooked oysters

This baked talaba recipe makes 6 oysters. And, they're definitely best enjoyed right after they're cooked.

However, if you do end up with some leftover baked oysters you can always easily store them for later. With that said, the best way to store cooked oysters is in an air-tight container in the fridge within 2 hours after cooking them.

Then, stored like that they'll last for up to 4 days in the fridge.

    Wrapping It Up

So, that's how to make baked talaba!

This baked oyster recipe is perfect for entertaining to impress your guests, or serving as an appetizer for an elegant family dinner. And, best of all, all you need is some oysters and a few pantry staples to make it. So now there's no need to spend money to get it at a high-end restaurant!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this baked talaba recipe as much as I do.
